There isn't really a tour, its more like a store than visiting an actual brewery. However, the 5$ tasting is definitely worth it, you get to try up to ten flavors and it only takes about 10 minutes. Then you get a 5$ coupon for use in the store!

I agree with the above answers. I actually participated in two tastings at two different Ole Smokey Moonshine stores and I had no effects from it.

The Holler is in the middle of the Gatlinburg Parkway and there is plenty of food nearby. But none at the distillery itself. Calculating wait time, plus sampling, plus shopping, it is fair to estimate an hour to an hour 15 minutes.

Weather will be mid 70s during the day and low 50s at night. It will not be overly crowded but it is the busy season because everybody is in town for the changing of the leaves

It will be hot and humid so make sure you drink lots of water. Most of the Ripley’s attractions are over-priced in my opinion, so if there’s something you want to do (mini golf, for instance), make sure you check different websites and Facebook pages for discount coupons. The sky bridge is definitely worth the cost, haven’t done Anakeesta yet, but it’s always pretty busy so I would imagine it’s great too. Don’t expect there to be social distancing or mask wearing on the main strip when you’re walking around. I was there just two weeks ago and I saw at least 4 different people lifting their masks to spit on the sidewalk (disgusting). We just kept our masks on and walked fast to our destination. Moon shine tasting is always a highlight for us, if there’s a flavor you really want to try and they don’t do it in the tasting, make sure you ask before you leave the table, they’re usually very accommodating. We always bring some cash with us just for the intention of tipping. Don’t forget seeing the mountains on the amazing trails! I highly recommend the app “All Trails” to help you find the right one based on location, difficulty, length, etc. We vacation in Gatlinburg multiple times per year - you’ll have a fantastic time!

There are both moonshine and whiskey taste testing. There are several different moonshine distilleries but I’ve always preferred Ol Smoky and always hit both the moonshine and whiskey distilleries several times and bought a lot too
