The short film at the Visitors Center does a good job of helping those of us who aren't military history buffs to understand the battle which took place in the area. You can walk or drive around the park, which covers a fairly large amount of land. (We drove, but lots of people were walking and enjoying the trail.) There are several points of interest along the route, nicely explained with signage. Because most of it is still woodland, you find yourself imagining British or American soldiers hiding behind the trees. There is no entrance fee, which is surprising because it's a worthwhile stop. (FYI, despite the name, there is no courthouse: The name of the COMMUNITY was "Guilford Courthouse.")

Great history, great area to walk or bike. If you are into our history this is a great stop. They do have a store video you can watch before your tour the park.

This preserved piece of history is a welcomed site to those looking to learn a little bit more about the area.
This park is an area draw for tourists as well as for locals given the expansive maintained and many paved trails available to enjoy. Monuments stand dedicated to the history makers as well as to those who sought to preserve the areas significance. There is a small visitors center, with truncated open hours due to Covid concerns, and preserved placard‘s along the trails to supply necessary info.
Free to all, the park stands as a refreshing means to educate and exercise

I stopped here on the way to Asheville. I am interested in history and was excited to see there was a Revolutionary War battle in Greensboro. I recently became interested in the southern campaign of the American Revolution. In fact, I have a book about the Battle of Guilford Courthouse on my shelf, so I wanted to see the battlefield to help me understand the book better. Books about battles I have visited are easier to follow because I can picture in my head what the author is referring to. The park was nice, but you can't have access to the grounds until 8. It is a short auto tour because, unfortunately, some of the battle has not been preserved. I learned a lot about the Battle of Guilford Courthouse. The battle played a vital role to the Battle of Yorktown, which started the end of the war. It was a British victory, but they suffered so many casualties that many of the officers thought it was not worth it. The information at the park was very informative and the staff were helpful. There were no ranger programs, but that gives me another reason to go back. A great experience and definitely worth a visit if you are in Greensboro or nearby.

This is a very nice military park with great exhibits and a helpful film to watch. If a person wanted to read all the information in each section, it would be a lot. I skipped here and there, and still felt like I learned a lot. There are items excavated from the battlefield on display. After the educational visitor center, you may either drive your car through forests to view the highlighted battle spots, or you can walk. Many people were out walking along the road (for exercise, it appeared) even though it was quite chilly. It's a nice area that was once a dreadful battlefield. There are statues at various sites, which are nice.

I love this park! I first visited it in 2003. For a time I lived near and kept returning. Even though Greensboro is all built up now (too many cars and too many people driving fast), this is still an oasis in metro craziness. The history is amazing. I wish we could have stayed all day. Whether you are driving through it or walking, you can sense the past. You can also have a well-needed Zen moment, too!

Cool place. We spent all of our time reading everything in the visitors center & didn’t realize that the park closed when the visitor center did. I didn’t see that noted in other reviews or else I would’ve got moving. You can drive the small loop in 10 mins or stop along the way or go by foot it’s only a couple of miles. We were able to park in a lot down the road where you can cross into the park by foot. (The rangers were ok with this). We still only saw a very small part of the park as it started down pouring. Would be great to go back one day.

This is a very interesting place to visit - it has a nice museum and the trails are shady and pleasant (we saw lots of locals walking in the park). You can walk throughout the park or you can drive and stop at some of the monuments (we drove because we didn't have time to walk - just a quick stop). Would have liked to have had more time to visit.

We stopped by the Guilford Courthouse National Park to explore a bit of history we were not familiar with. The visitor center display was excellent, especially if you read the info presented. There lots of artifacts well displayed. The film wasn’t available due to Covid. But you can use the National Park app to open a narrated tour of the battlefield. There are places to park so you get out to explore the sites, too. Very informative.

This is a beautiful park. The visitor center has a lot of history to learn about and offers exhibits. Dogs are allowed on leash. You can either drive the park and stop at the interest points or you can walk the interior.

How long should we plan for the tour?

Just got your question. Hope this answer isn't too late. I spent about 30 minutes there since I teach US History and the staff was overly accommodating to me. There is a brief film and the outside buildings.

Are there picnic areas?

There are no picnic areas in the battlefield park out if respect. What the others here are referring to is called Country Park which is right next to the battlefield. There are short trails between them.
What are the prices for admission if any?

Please explain the Jr. Ranger program. My 9-year old and 6-year old want to go here, but I don't want them to be disappointed. Thanks...

A pretty full explanation is at the park's NPS website. Click on Learn About the Park, and then on Kids & Youth. For any remaining questions, their number is 1-336-288-1776.
