Weird to have this type of place in the middle of an almost downtown area. You must park on a side street (there is no parking lot, at least none that we found). it was a nice change. The park does not have many paved walkways, so if you go after it recently rains, wear proper shoes; you maybe slipping in mud. I would recommend the owners put in some more seats- the benches are few and far between and don't allow you to spend the time you want if all benches are taken. The park runs along a busy roadway which you can hear from some parts of it. There is a pond/water area also but again, there are no seats near it, so you must bring your own ground cover or you will sit in dirt. Overall it was a semi-nice experience in taking a walk, but I don't think I would do it again.

The North Carolina Zoo, about 30 minutes from Greensboro in Asheboro, is one of the nicest zoos in the world. The animals have room to roam in beautiful natural habitats - unlike most other zoos where the big animals are in big dirt pits with caves. The butterfly exhibit was magnificent! We visited the historic downtown which was very nice. Downtown we ate at Natty Greens which is dog friendly (my son and his wife showed their dalmation at the dog show at the Greensboro Coloseum). The beer and food were excellent. We used to exit off I-40 whenever we were driving to the coast to eat at Taste of Thai on Wendover. Unfortunately it is out of business, so we ate at Bankock Cafe. It was very tasty too. We spent 2 nights at the Microtel off of Wendover, which was comfortable and clean. We ate breakfast next door at Jake's Diner. The food was very, very good, as was the service. It was a great weekend in Greensboro!

Although the garden is not big, it is a pleasant way to spend about an hour escaping from the city. We walked most of it in less than 30 minutes but you can relax on a bench and spend longer.

My wife and I decided to visit this park as a Sunday getaway from Chatham County NC on Memorial Day weekend. We figured it would be a cool shady respite on a warm day.
What we found was something much better--a proper wetland replete with streams, a large pond, a waterfall, all shaded by tupelo gums and bald cypress trees in and around the water! There is even a bamboo grove.
Entry to this park is free, and it is easy to find.
There is a boardwalk that meanders through the Bog, and we met folks who come here every day, the Bog People, who will gladly share their knowledge of where and when to find the wildlife who live in the Bog, or come through as migratory transients.
We were there late-morning to mid-day and there were still plenty of birds in the trees and on the pond. I can only imagine what could be seen and heard early in the morning and late in the afternoon.
There is a reason the Bog Garden is listed on the North Carolina Birding trail.
A birding adage that says "If you want to find birds, look for the water".
I would recommend that anyone looking for birds, or just seeking cool solace in the heat visit this wonderful park.

This hike is worth adding to your “to do” list! Easily manageable because it’s not too steep or rugged, all paths are fairly wide and easily traversed and lead back to the easily-locatable entrance. I visited in early August, when trees were lush and full. Because of the shade, the temperature was easily about ten degrees cooler than outside the garden. Go, enjoy some people- and duck-watching and the sound of the waterfall.

This is one of my favorite short hikes in Greensboro! It’s close by and a great way to get out and enjoy a couple hours. There are so many birds to see here, there is an owl that I have seen several times. Dogs are allowed on leash.

Impressive for a bog garden.
We visited the Bog Garden at Benjamin Park this weekend during the ACC Touranment. Very relaxing and lots of pretty vistas and flowers.

This a great little walk. Well maintained and easy for all ages. It was great watching all of the ducks.

A great place to take little ones we loved the water fall !! Our little ones enjoyed the ducks and the creek and ponds!! The Bog garden was dry due to very hot weather we believed !! WE enjoyed not a long adventure but nice we also enjoyed the gardens
