Im a seasoned kiter and can quite safely say this is one of the best spots to learn to kitesurf in the region! Flat waters and waist-high for kilometres - ideal for anyone learning and loosing a board regularly. Frank is a great instructor and provides high quality kites and board for his lessons. I will be returning!

I came to Kampot to spend time with a friend who was learning kitesurfing here at Cambodia kitesurfing school.
I had never tried this sport before, and I was very intimidated at first to even give it a try. But after speaking to Frank, the founder of the school and watching people even in their 60s being so passionate about the sport made me want to go for it. And I’m glad I did.
Apart from being lucky to have the most disciplined and passionate companion to learn together with (who introduced this kitesurfing to me), the main reasons that I could not only take these lessons but also really enjoy them and look forward to them had a lot to do with :
* the place, as the water being shallow (which takes away most of the fear for a beginner),
* the instructors Frank and Jonathan, who made learning so much fun that it felt like just another outdoor activity with friends,
* and of course, such a wonderful family and community vibe at Villa Vedici which made my holiday and memories very special .
Hope to see everyone again soon, thank you for the wonderful time ❤️

Cambodia kitesurfing has the best spot to learn. Perfect shallow waters which allows for quick learning and guidance by the instructor. The excellent service, the high level of the instructors and brand new equipment (lots of new kites and lessons with headset communication) provided for a perfect environment to learn and enhance my kitesurfing skills! Together with the social aspect of Cambodia kitesurfing (the instructors are very nice and funny) and Villa Vedici (as their base), this was a very nice part of my trip!

After trying to learn kitesurfing in Cape Town and then in Goa and giving up on the sport, this beginner friendly spot made me try again and I finally got riding.
Frank and his instructor are very knowledgeable. He has the newest equipment and everything is in great condition.
The spot itself is super shallow and calm water and you can walk back which is great while you're still learning. There are no rocks or reef where you can get hurt. And great wind!
The bonus was staying at villa vedici which was a home away from home. A beautiful property on the river, friendly staff and other residents.
All in all, Kampot was a find. Had never heard of it and only came there to kitesurf for a month. Ended up enjoying my time on the water and off it, left with some great memories. Thanks a ton Frank! 🙏

Based at Villa Vedici we came to kite-board with Cambodia Kiteboarding - run by Frank It offers IKO courses for all levels. We had our own gear and came ready to kite and Frank was very supportive in assisting us to get to the kite spot. Great kite spot - it’s a motor bike/scooter ride away or by boat transfer which is a great experience just getting there. The kite spot is located on a small sand bank with shade surrounded by knee to waist-deep water for a very long way out, making it a perfect beginners spot or for the freestyle kiters looking for flat water. The villa run by Franks family is amazing - chilled easy going and fantastic food. A really good vibe! Hoping to be back again and definitely a kite-spot worth putting on the bucket list - will like to try the better of the seasons in summer.

Frank ist super nett und das Equipment mehr als ausreichend und gut in Schuß. Ich habe nur Material geliehen und der Preis war gut. Das Revier ist für Flachwasser-Liebhaber perfekt und der kurze Bootstransfer dorthin ist sehr kurzweilig.

Great kiting experience that I would recommend to anyone visiting Kampot!
Frank, the owner of the school is a very nice and chill guy who will go the extra mile to support your kiting experience! I was amazed by top quality kiting material and one service I never experienced before: riding up to me mid-session to bring me a better size kite as the wind was dropping during the session.
Also, the flat water spot is amazing and socializing with Frank and the other instructor Jonathan was good fun.

Grand spot parfait pour tous les niveaux avec de l'eau peu profonde partout, un endroit authentique où vous rencontrerez peut-être quelques pêcheurs durant votre session !
Frank, le gérant de l'école est une personne attentionné et de très bon conseil ! Il nous a accueillis les bras ouverts.
Jonathan, mon moniteur m'a mise rapidement en confiance, il est très professionnel, patient et encourageant !
Un séjour unique !

What an experience! Travelling around est asia and finally found a good and cheap spot to kite! Rental and lessons of quality 👌 good prices! We found in love for the shallow spot and the team! Frank and his family gave us a great hospitality, we will also spend Christmas with them! Johnathan the teacher is patient and helpful!
Super expérience! Nous avons enfin trouvé un spot de qualité en Asie du Sud-est! Les prix de la location et des cours sont vraiment moins chers qu'en Thaïlande, le spot peu profond nous a séduit et permis d'apprendre le kite dans les meilleurs conditions. Frank et sa famille nous ont accueilli comme des rois! Nous allons même passer Noël avec eux! Le prof Johnathan est patient et aidant, nous recommandons!

Guten Tag. Alle Fragen kann Ihnen Frank van Zoggel von Cambodia Kiteboarding oder Villa Vedici sehr gut beantworten. Schreiben Sie Frank eine E-Mail. Im Januar hatte es 10 -20 Knoten zwischen 11 bis 15.00 Uhr.

What are the costs only for renting the gear? Anyone knows? I read something around $30 per hour, is that true?..Because that seems a bit expensive for only rent!

Yes I rented for $30 per hour. I kited a lot in South East Asia and this was one of the cheapest places to rent. Also the spot is so safe and there is almost nobody. The gear I rented was all new gear, the kites were 2016 models and the instructor was on the beach which gave me a safe feeling to go out. Not expensive at all in my opinion!
