It is not a cooking school you would attend to be a chef. They offer two types of classes: One is a demonstration class where they demonstrate the preparation of several dishes with a lot of pointers on ways to do it. It also has local culture entwined with it and you get to eat what was prepared at the end. I have made gumbo for years but picked up a variety of pointers from the class. It was in the $26-28 per person range and we spent 2-3 hours there. The meal was: File' seafood gumbo, Chicken Fricassee, Bananas foster, and we even had a Praline. Recipes were provided, class/dinner was fabulous. They also offer a hands on class that is longer and of course cost more. Depending on how much time you have, either would be a great addition to your New Orleans visit.
