If you are a visitor to Kazanlak, the capital of the Rose Valley in Bulgaria, you may find enjoyable the visit to the Museum of Essential Oils. You will learn how they are extracted and you can buy some organic cosmetic products and natural oils for your aroma therapy with rose 🌹, Melissa🌿, pine 🌲, salvia🌱, camomile 🌼, lavander🌾, and etc. The prices are truly reasonable for such good products. Pay attention only for allergies. The oils are strong so first try with a little drop on your skin and observe the reaction before applying on a bigger zone.

This little museum is really nice, the guide skeaks English and explains the distillation’s process of rose oil. You can smell all the essential oils they produce and learn their properties. At the end of the tour you find the shop where you can buy many kinds of products. I suggest this visit.

The place is not well advertised (but not tourist information is in Bulgaria) but this is a must see if you are in Kazanlak to find out about their famous roses. The essential oils museum is a few miles past the center of town but well worth the visit. A great rose oil distillery presentation is available there as is a sampling of essential oils. The museum is better than the Rose Museum in Kazanlak. Their store with rose products is large and well stocked with prices for the rose 50-60 less than in town. They also sell the rose flowers (and other local plants) since the museum is part of a government agricultural facility.
