This was my second private class in the past year, and I had so much fun. I always learn so much from the instructors, and working with glass as an artistic medium is just incredible.

Watching glassblowing is always exciting, and this was, of course, no different. On top of that, it was an excellent exhibition of glass art; it takes just a moment to make your way inside, and it's absolutely worth it.

We did the one hour experience and made glass bowls. They let us be hands on as much as was safe. I hope to book the longer session in the future.

We loved the high quality of the glass art creations which were reasonably priced in relation to the quality. Interesting to watch the artists creating their work on site.

We stopped in to watch. They were welcoming and items lovely to look at. It was not crowded. If you are looking to buy, they had a nice selection of smaller items as well as larger.

Stumbled into this shop. We got there too late to see any live glass-blowing but enjoyed strolling through the shop. Many of the pieces were wayyyy out of my price range but they were so beautiful! I appreciated that there were so many different artists, with different aesthetics were featured. My husband bought me a piece and we had it shipped home since I didn’t want to risk breaking it in our luggage

We did a create 2 hot shop experience and it was so much fun. Ronnie was a wonderful guide and I would recommend asking for him if you book a glass workshop. Pieces take 2 days to cool and be picked up but they do offer shipping to your home as well if you are on a quick trip or just don’t trust yourself with breakables at the airport.

What a disappointment. I was so hopeful that this was going to be a unique and memorable experience. Oh, it was memorable - just not the way I had hoped. NOT WORTH THE PRICE PAID...
I bought two 30 minute sessions as a Christmas gift for my boyfriend. I called to make the reservation and was delighted with the woman that assisted me. She was kind and helpful and a joy to speak with. I hate to say it...but that is where the great customer service concluded.
We showed up for our time slot in February (the month will make sense in a minute). As we watched the couple in front of us do their project, we quickly realized that this was not what we had anticipated. The experience is 90% executed by the instructor. I got to pick out what I wanted to make and the pattern and color. After that, the involvement was limited. They do most of it. I understand it is dangerous and an art that needs a specific skill set and training - but I felt like a kindergartener. Our instructor was not sincere, he seemed like he was going through the motions and I felt like he was not engaged.
Then when I was done, he quickly whisked my project away. It happened so fast that I did not even get to take a picture of it. I paid $150.00 for 30 minutes and was so rushed I was at the counter in 20 minutes feeling completely let down.
My boyfriend (whom I bought this experience for) decided to cancel his time. They were at least willing to refund us. Then a few days later, my bowl came in the mail - it was lopsided and sloppy. I guess if they are going to control 90% of the experience, it should at least look good. I could have purchased something better for less and not wasted my time. I wish I could have sent it back since I felt bad for throwing it in the garbage. But after all of that - it was not something I was going to display.
The reason the date of our experience was important, is that about two weeks after - I emailed them directly to give my feedback - that was a MONTH AGO. Too often people take to social media to share their opinion and do not even give the company the chance to make it right or even know the feedback before it goes public. I tried to be the bigger person - wanting nothing in return except maybe a response and got NOTHING. They could not even reply to my email and acknowledge my frustration or disappointment. Seriously?! So now I feel the need to at least warn other people.
NOT WORTH THE MONEY.

There were not that many people there the day we were there. Maybe because of the holidays. Every items they sell in the store is super expensive. About 2 years ago when we went to Quebec city, the Glassblowing store there have more items and much more affordable.

We did this the evening after going to the Chihuly exhibit. It was a super fun hour or so creating our own blown glass art. It really gave us more appreciation for the Chihuly exhibit.

I have a 10 year old , would this be a problem for the glass blowing class, preferably the $65.00 one?

I would not take toddlers into the shop; it's tight in there and EVERYthing is breakable. But I think that a 10-year-old could take a glass blowing class -- assuming a normal 10-year-old. You know you're kid. Materials are hot; there is some danger. If your kid listens and follows instructions and demonstrates care, then s/he'll be fine. If your kid isn't good about staying still, following instructions, etc., then NO.
I wonder if they'll special make waterpipes? For like tobacco consumption?

What choice of glass objects do you have
to make in the class?
SeattleGlassblowing

Hello!
For the Blow Your Own Glass Experience, you can choose between 6 different shapes right now. You can make a paperweight, flower, ornament, sea float globe, small bowl or pumpkin.
In the Private Lesson, participants make a average total of 5 pieces. Because it's a longer class, you have more flexibility in the choice of shapes.
Feel free to email us directly or call at 206-448-2181 if you have any other questions!
We hope to see you in the Studio for a class!

What are the charges for shipping your creations internationally? Your website mentioned that you ship the pieces we create.
Thanks.

From memory, and don't quote me, I think it cost me about $60 to ship 2 pieces to Australia. They were well padded and arrived in perfect condition.
I do not know if that cost was based on weight, or size of box, so I don't know what it would have cost to send all my pieces (the paperweights were quite heavy so I took them in hand luggage padded inside socks - and yes, got pulled up by Customs because they looked strange but showed them to the Customs guy and he was very interested in their story and of course allowed them through)
I only chose to ship the two items I thought most likely to break in my luggage.
Definitely, I do Not regret that I shipped them!

Is this educational or suitable for a 4 year old to come watch?
Megan-Ann L
سياتل, واشنطن39 مساهمة
I wouldn't take my four year old just because there are so many opportunities to get hurt. Unless you watched them carefully the entire time or your child is extremely well behaved. There are several ovens set at 2,000 degrees, hot tools everywhere, things to trip over. I am not even sure they would allow a 4 year old in for the class. I think I rememeber seeing an age restriction on the waiver form. If they want to tour the gallery of pieces made by the artists, they could do that. I don't mean to deter you with my post, but I have two four year old nephews, and I cannot imagine them going back into the studio.
