One of the BEST around! We went the 3rd week in May so some flowers were just buds but saw lots of God’s creation. Plan on LOTS of walking with some hills. You can pay $5 extra for a tram ride which stops & lets folks off briefly to look at things more closely. So wonderfully laid out with a large variety of plants, cactus, & flowers indoors & out.
Be sure & stop at the train park at the top of the hill behind the gardens parking lot.

We spent a few hours touring the grounds at the gardens. The glass conservatory had many interesting tropical plants. The tram ride was helpful, as we were able to see many of the further gardens. At two stops, we were able to get off and view some of the gardens more closely. The model train exhibit near the rose garden is a must see with multiple model trains traveling through tunnels, over trestles and around a forested version of Old Omaha.

Enjoyed visiting the botanical gardens during our stay in Omaha. Opted to go at night during the holidays to catch the lights and everything was beautiful. It was a little smaller than I expected, but I thought everything was well done. Staff was friendly and helpful.

Always a great place to visit for a few hours. Beautiful walking trails with different gardens. The gift shop is so much fun. They have activities going on all of the time, so check their website before you go. We love to go for the holidays: Easter, Halloween, Christmas, etc. Our 7 year old loves the activities for kids and just being able to run around and not have to worry about traffic. The greenhouse has the most amazing plants. Just a wonderful place to relax and breath - we are very lucky to have this in Omaha.

Another gem in Omaha. Nice garden area right near visitor center. If any mobility issues, take the tram for a quick, easy way to see most of the gardens. It stops a couple times to view areas. I believe you could catch the next tram if you want to spend more time. We got off at the model train set, which is fantastic. It's set in the trees and all wooden structures. We then walked back to visitor center and spent more time. You can easily spend 2 hours here

We were in town for a wedding and decided to visit these gardens as they came highly recommended to us. Luckily, we went early, as it was very hot the day we were there.
There is a lot of construction happening at the gardens, so they have decided to offer the shuttle as a free service as it is the only way to actually get to the center gardens.
There were quite a variety of gardens to enjoy, my favorite being the Railroad Gardens: six hobby train lines nestled among the trees. Quite unique. But they only run the trains in the summer, I was told.
The Conservatory is filled with some unique plants and beautiful fountains, and well worth walking through.
There is a reasonably priced cafe inside the visitor center.

Today and always I so enjoy the beautiful gardens! Unfortunately, I dropped my drivers lisc and discovered it at 5pm when Lauritzen was closing. Tammy, Front Desk Manager brainstormed a solution and contacted Rhett. Rhett, Security, drove me on a golf cart to the rose garden and I was able to find my lost item. Both Tammy and Rhett were so helpful and kind. Employees like these two make the gardens a delight.

Beautiful place, friendly staff, we spent five hours walking the gardens and didn't do two of them, nice to have a coffee shop and cafe inside, very nice gift shop, taking the tram helps get to the outside gardens, well worth the visit.

Features lots of native flora. I enjoy seeing the different kinds of native grasses. You can walk it or ride a tram that stops in many locations. Plenty of parking, great buildings & exhibits. You can walk up a hill & see a couple of great old steam locomotives.

We had a good time here. They didn’t offer a tram tour due to some construction, but we were not sure why they couldn’t do it since the construction was just in one place. Anyway, one activity they have for kids is to do searches for gnomes and my daughter really got into it (and we got sucked in as well). Unfortunately we couldn’t find the last one and we were not the only ones as another family was looking as well so perhaps it really wasn’t there. And since it’s Omaha, they had an area for some miniature trains to run, but all of them were not going. There’s also a café that was open for lunch and while the menu was limited, the service was good and the food was fine.
Probably the most impressive area for us was the indoor conservatory, and it’s especially nice to go in when it’s hot outside. Overall, you could see most/all of the place in 2-3 hours and we would recommend going.

Hey! we will be traveling with the family and would like to visit your garden, but we have a small chihuahua, is it possible to bring animals to your place? it can be in a travel bag, it just gets hot and doesn't mind leaving it in the car, thanks a lot in advance for your reply!

Dogs must be on leashes but are only allowed on certain days. The days are on the website and are only two times each month. It’s much to hot to leave your dog in your car. Do not do that

I have only visited the garden in the fall, but I would think that early spring flowers would be flowering soon.

There are indoor activities. There is a big greenhouse portion (part tropical and part based on the weather in Charleston, SC) and also a gift shop, cafe, and permanent indoor plants that are typically decorated for some theme. Right now it's a winter wonderland.

The rose garden should be in full bloom, educational and fun children’s garden, and the miniature train is a must, outside in the summer. The glass arboretum is lovely, especially if it is beastly hot! You can take a tram ride thru a lot of the garden if you don’t care to walk the hills.
