‪Be ready for a fun day!‬
الأصدقاء • أغسطس 2019
‪Went with my niece and after 3 years, we have made this a family get together tradition!
There are such a variety of things to do that you have to start early in the day to get it all done! Water slides, wave pool, great food and drinks and our favorite which is floating the Wild River on inner tubes! When close to or in Springfield, Il, Knights is the place to go for a full day of fun!‬

‪We stopped in to check out the park. There is lots to do. Water slides, wave pool,go carts, mini golf, battling cages, amazing lazy river.

For a family with teens is great variety to entertain, also great for a family with little ones. We saw many areas for smaller children.

While at first sight. I was a little skeptical about visiting. As this looks like an older theme park & looks like the paint is faded & makes you question how well maintained this park is....
We had a really enjoyable experience & trust that if we should visit again. We would have just as much fun.

‪Dangerous for small kids‬
العائلة • يوليو 2019
‪The park is very spaced out and has a lot of room. It’s clean and provides the tubes. Price is good and there are daily specials for different reasons- don’t buy tickets ahead of time the specials are not online just in person. If it rains they are generous enough to allow you to return free another day which happened to us our first day after just 2 hours. We went back the next day and witnessed on the slides that you must walk over the bridge to get to little kids come down drop off the end of the slide and an adult or child come next landing on the kid - after which the parents stood in the pool to get their kids and then the landing area became a place to hang out and protect your child. The guard was comfy in her perch until Someone yelled at her to help those kids. On the large slides it was common for smaller kids to hang out in the water at the bottom of the slide with the guard never telling them to exit the area knowing she had hit the button and another person was on their way. This created a lot of anxiety in me. I also inquired about bringing in a cooler prior to going as I live on the west coast. I was told they are not allowed and that they have a concession stand. There were coolers everywhere with drinks and picnics brought from home. They have a sign for no coolers but no one at the entrance to enforce anything. I did message through Facebook about both of these and Mr Knight advises he will be addressing these issues. He took it as a threat that I told him I would be posting this- I feel parents should be prepared to protect their children if the guard is perched. If not for the laziness of the guards and the danger they presented by sitting in their perch instead of helping the small kids I would give this a 5 star. ‬

‪Decent Waterpark‬
العائلة • يونيو 2019
‪We are a family of 5 with 3 kids age 8 and under. We stopped while on a road trip. Price was decent. We paid online the night before (making sure the weather would be nice) and paid $110. I couldn’t find much information online about the rides. Basically they have 8 water rides, a wave pool, lazy river and the 2 kiddie areas. 3 water slides are built into a hill and could use updating. You slide down on mats so it’s better. There are three other slides together. The blue one is fast and can be painful at the end. Then there is the devils ray (the white one that looks like a Venus fly trap). Awesome ride. This is the ONLY ride with a height restriction (42inches). All the other rides are fine even with a life vest. We were there on a chillier Saturday but it wasn’t busy at all! Slides were not monitored much. All in all my kids had a great time and it was a nice stop tor us. We also did the drive in movie next door which was a nice experience.‬

‪Fun Size water park!‬

‪This park is close to home and just right for my three boys. From smaller slides and lazy river to water balloons, bigger slides and a wave pool, there is Something for everyone to enjoy, but small enough to keep tabs on all of them!‬

‪Family reunion‬
العائلة • يونيو 2018
‪A big group of us played miniature golf from ages 4-70. Broke up into groups of 3-4 and enjoyed ourselves. Course/landscape/decor needs some maintenance help but the actual greens were good. The breeze on the open prairie was strong but welcomed on such a hot day, which is possibly why it wasn't very busy. Appreciated the seating area under large umbrellas just outside the courses where many of us visited and ate/drank some refreshments.‬

‪They need more than just teenagers and college students for employees. (Personal Injury story)‬
العائلة • أغسطس 2018
‪So, took the kids here for a last hurrah before the school year. We live about an hour and a half away, so it wasn't local for us. We immediately encountered one issue before we even paid. There was a huge car show going on, so it took about 20 minutes driving around to find a parking spot. There were people at the entrances to the parking lot in car show t-shirts directing traffic, but I don't think they were telling the car show people to not park there (this probably should have been the case) and when we said "Water park" he just basically said "Good luck finding a spot." So he wasn't really helping, and in fact he stopped every car and chatted them up, so he was holding up road traffic. Seemed like a not-so-great omen, but we pressed on.

Got up to the pay line, which isn't well marked, and people were literally walking in and out of the uncontrolled entrance. No one taking tickets, no one telling them not to. I honestly feel like we could have strolled right in without paying fairly easily. There were those turnstile things, but they were shoved to the side. Probably should've save the $135 and given it a go. I guarantee you there were multiple people there that day who hadn't paid.

Paid $10 for a locker key, and the lockers were small, but fairly deep and mainly clean. Got $5 back when we returned the key.

However, I'm glad I looked up reviews on here before we went, because one thing that's really hard to do is change into swim clothes at the park after you get there. They only have one bathroom with toilet stalls and shower stalls available, no changing cubicles. We just stepped out of our shoes and took off our t-shirts and were ready to go.

The park itself, I can't fault too much. The water was clean and the main walkways were fairly clean, except for broken balloons everywhere around the main area from this weird balloon fight thing. They should ditch that, I'm sure that people tracking balloons all over their park and into the water is and the ensuing clean up is eating into whatever profit they might make.

As some others have pointed out here, it's getting shabby and in need of a good re-touching, but not much more than that. I mean, the theme still holds up and it's not actually in danger of falling down.

One thing in particular I noticed was a total lack of, I guess, authority figures. Every person working, including the "senior lifeguard" who attended me at the First Aid station was under 25. I'm not saying that you have to have older people in authority placements, but the kids working there didn't seem particularly thrilled or motivated. For instance, we ate at the pizza place on premise, and you don't really get a feeling for how filthy the inside of that place is (we're talking grossness on the walls) until you order your food and sit waiting for it. Spider webs and dead bugs everywhere inside, too. And despite not being busier than a customer every five minutes or so, all the inside tables and chairs were filthy. We had to wipe off our own. And the bathrooms - they need WAY more attention. Just, way more. The pizza wasn't bad, but I'm shocked that we didn't get some "issues" after eating it, just based on how gross the restaurant was. It was dicey.

Now, the water attractions were great. I had younger kids with me, so I didn't get to go on the big slides or anything, but my kids loved all the play pools, there's a newer spray park with a big emptying bucket on top, and the wave pool was their personal favorite. There were plenty of floaty's for the lazy river, and I could not find fault with any of it. If you can ignore all the petty little things, you will have fun in the water, if nothing else.

And kudos to the good people of Springfield, because we left our towels and swim shoes on a tanning chair all day and everything was just as we left it when we got it all back.

One thing I'll add is that we paid an extra $5 per person for the VIP bracelet. It allows you unlimited attraction rides, mini golf, and Fortress of Fun access, and either a Go Kart ride, a bucket of balls to drive, or 3 batting cage tokens. All in all, not a bad deal, but we basically went on the Ferris Wheel, played mini golf, and there was no one guarding the Fortress of Fun so it just looked like a freebie anyway. And be aware, buying a large, souvenir sized drink with "Free refills" isn't free, it's actually $1. The signs and the employees didn't seem to agree on this.

Now, on to my accident. The bathrooms, as I said, were totally lacking in attention. When we first got there, someone had just defiled the handicapped stall in the women's restroom building towards the front of the facility. I mean, poop smeared everywhere. They hadn't even been opened for two hours at that point. I think that was cleaned up by our second trip there later, but you have to wonder how thoroughly you can clean ALL the poop off the wet floor of a busy restroom. But every bathroom that we visited through the day (I had kids aged 7 & 10 with me, so we visit LOTS of bathrooms) was just gross. Wet toilet paper and paper towels all over the floors, toilets in need of cleaning (badly, not just average AND I saw poop on the floors of two different bathrooms in the same day), supplies running low, and honestly, lots of cobwebs and dirt that has collected and compiled over long periods, not just "needed a good clean that day."

The main issue in all the bathrooms, though, was standing water. Every floor of every bathroom we went to was coated in water and slippery. There were no "Caution: Wet Floor" signs to be seen, and I saw people slipping all over the place. I made a mental note of this and tried to be extra cautious, but at around 5pm in the main bathroom, I slipped and fell due to a steep drain grade. Right as you walk into the bathroom, going to the left towards the bathroom stalls, there's a dip in the floor to allow the water to drain, but there was so much standing water that it was almost soupy. I was walking towards the bathroom stalls, and I went down so quickly, I didn't even realize it happened until after it did. I was in shock. These nice ladies came over and helped me up and threw away my sunglasses which broke when I cracked my head on the floor. I sat down for a few minutes and I seemed to feel better, but that bathroom should not have had that much water on it. OR should have signs all over the place for reminders. But better would be sending someone in there to squeegee the floors at least once an hour. Like, seriously, how can you not have at least one person, full time, doing nothing but bathroom patrol in a place where bathrooms are essential and easily get so bad?

But worse was after the fall. I felt ok enough, went back out with my kids to watch them play some more, but after about 5 minutes of that, I just felt bad and I had a lump on my head. I was worried because I was alone with them, so I decided to just visit the First Aid area anyway, and to at least report the bathrooms.

The first lifeguard came in, and he was super nice and apologetic, but he called in the main lifeguard when he learned that I'd fallen. While we were waiting, he did admit that this time of year (high summer?) they have less employees on staff so things tend to get overlooked there. I guess that those things are guest safety, sadly.

The second lifeguard came in, and he was nice as well, but he really only felt the top of my head, did a three question concussion assessment, and then offered me an ice pack. I mean, there was a drawer in the room where we were sitting labeled "incident reports" and he didn't even ask my name (well, not true, he did ask if I knew what my name was and what day it was). And he very kindly allowed us to use the lifeguard bathroom to change in so we wouldn't have to go back into the wet bathroom, but call me nuts, I'd prefer he have at least taken my name and the details down so that they know that it's an issue to be addressed. And the First Aid room was badly in need of a good scrubbing, itself. My kids entertained themselves by counting how many bugs were caught in a spiderweb while we were waiting around. It just seemed a little unprofessional, and caught me by surprise. Every place I've ever worked has a detailed incident program to follow if someone so much as stubs a toe.

We got dressed after that and played mini golf. But I have a bad taste in my mouth for the overall safety and cleanliness of the place now. I feel the admission price could definitely come down and few bucks - $5 less would be a good price point. Because they obviously can't afford cleaners or updates or even enough staff to keep guests safe, so why not just make it the bargain basement?

I should point out, though, water safety was just fine. The lifeguards were the same, surly, eagle eyed teenagers they have everywhere and they seemed to have plenty of them. Even in the kiddie pool areas, there seemed to be someone monitoring slides and tweeting their whistle at big kids who tried to invade or at little kids who tried to climb up the slides. So good on them for that.‬
