‪Very informative visit. For some reason the day I went there was not charge to enter.
Everything is well laid out. There are 3 floors of exhibits. The lower level had many artifacts from MLK. It was amazing to read MLK's words from the 1960's and see that they are as relevant today as they were then. The staff is committed to the museum, and helpful and informative. This is a great rainy day or extremely hot day activity. The place was not overly crowded, which I liked.‬

‪This museum is a must see for everyone. It is quite an eye opener, especially the sit-in experience. I wish it covered human rights of Native Americans, but there is only so much you can cover. It was a great experience.‬

‪Adult admission just under 20 dollars - cards only.
Helpful staff willing to discuss issues in an open manner.
Self guided tour. Displays are in English only.
Lots of information about the origins of segregation and the civil rights movement in the Southern states (with no big words) including the main antagonists/protagonists. Written and video displays as well as an 4D interactive experience.
Upstairs are some displays about human rights around the world.
Children under 14 will probably find it boring.‬

‪We spent about 3 hours at this wonderful museum, with fascinating exhibits and interactive programs related to this country’s Civil Rights history, including Atlanta and Dr. Martin Luther King. The museum is part of a large complex that includes the Coca-Cola exhibition center, Atlanta Aquarium and Summer Olympics Park.‬

‪This was our first time here, and we spent almost two hours viewing all of the exhibits. I have read a lot over the years about the Civil Rights movement, so much of the information was familiar to me, such as the murder of Emmett Till, the Freedom Riders, the sit-in at the Greensboro, NC, lunch counter, and the March on Washington. However, the primary sources used to tell these stories (e.g., newsreels, photos, and interviews) brought these events to vivid and disturbing life. I had a better appreciation for the Civil Rights movement and a deeper empathy for all those involved in it.

The layout of the museum and the order in which each area is viewed was well thought out. After an emotional time spent learning more about the Civil Rights movement, we ended our tour in an area that focused on actions individuals can take to help advocate for human rights around the world. I appreciated that the tour concluded on a hopeful note.

Overall, this museum is well worth visiting. Even if you have some background in civil and human rights, you will come away knowing much more and, hopefully, with a desire to help create change.‬

‪It's worth seeing if you have not seen a civil rights museum. Both the Memphis, Tennessee and Jackson, Mississippi were better. However, this one was good. Make sure to complement your visit with a (free) visit to MLK's home and Ebenezer church. We spent two hours here.‬

‪Great overview of the civil rights era as well as current international human rights. Very engaging, current, and informative. Would highly recommend 2-3 hours here- in the morning, followed by the Aquarium which is right next door. ‬
