We were familiar with Frederick but coming here gave us a better appreciation of the town and the surrounding area. The center had historic displays and also featured displays of area sites and attractions for people to visit. There were a ton of visitor flyers, pamphlets and guides to pick up at no cost. They Center also had a few items for sale (t-shirts, postcards, mugs, books). I had a special interest in antiques, so a staff person gave me a list of all antique shops that were in Frederick and those located close by.

Do stop there when you get to town. Informative and advised where we could park for 3 hours free with validating our parking ticket. Thank you

Terrific visitors center with great people and tons of information, almost like a small museum. Amazing amount of literature about every interest imaginable. Absolutely the best way to start your visit to Frederick and western Maryland.

The Visitor Center is a gem of information with exhibits and displays of area historic importance. We learned a lot and decided to go to places in addition to doing the self-guided downtown Frederick walking tour. They will direct you to the parking garage a block away on East All Saints Street. Pick up literature, maps, and have your 3-hour parking validated at the Visitor Center.

Oh my did we discover a gold mine!! When visiting Frederick for the first time (or just getting re-acquainted), I definitely recommend going here first because there is a wealth of information! There is a short show which outlines the history/memorable sites, a ton of handouts sorted by categories of your choosing, and extremely helpful volunteers.

This is one of the nicest visitor centers I've ever seen in either a large or small town! Excellent selection of materials available and films also were shown!

This is a multi-faceted center. Of course staffers will make recommendations for whatever your heart desires: museums, shopping, dining, etc.
Exhibits highlight Frederick history, and an excellent movie does the same for all of Frederick County.
Gifts and literature will get you on your way about town.

A "must" first step prior to a visit to Frederick. Helpful staff, a well done short introductory video (~14minutes), displays on an array of topics for a myriad of interests, professional brochures, and parking fee reduction. Will prepare you to fully enjoy what Frederick has to offer.

They were so friendly and went through so many different things we could do! Loved that they were soo knowledgable! Gave us maps and walking tour guides and a scavenger hunt for the kids.
