ביקרנו במקום עם הילדים (מעל גיל 12). הסיור לווה בהדרכה מרתקת של מדריך צמוד. הסיור עובר בין תחנות שונות ומלווה תוך כדי סיפור של משפחה אחת מרגע שעלו לארץ עם כל הקשיים. הילדים היו מרותקים ובסוף גם נהנו מפינת התחפושות ברוח התקופה.

This is a good museum that does not attempt to airbrush out the negative aspects of the first Aliyah, particularly the near dictatorial impositions of the Rothchild family. The visit is made more accessible to those with little love for or scant knowledge of history through an audio visual presentation involving the experiences of a typical first Aliyah family from Eastern Europe to Palestine. There was very little discussion however of the cultural and linguistic aspects of the period, and the fact that the first Aliyah basically rejected the use of Hebrew as a modern tongue. A bit more discussion of issues such as this would earn the museum five stars.

Very nice museum, presents the first rise story in a pleasant and accurate way, definitely worth spending an hour or an hour to visit the museum

Museum was made very well with intricate figurines, movies, and exhibits. The museum taught me all about the struggles the early pioneers faced, things I was unfamiliar with before.

Well presented account of the Jewish immigration to Israel form the late 1800's through WWI. The guide at the desk was extremely nice and helpful with information about the area in general. plan on 1-2 hours to read all of the interesting displays and videos.

Would recommend.Interesting to find out about early settlers and their challenges and accomplishments.
Modern museum, easy to move around and audio visual presentations engaging and easy to watch.
Anat at front desk provided fantastic customer service and as well as arranging a private tour in English, she made suggestions about a variety of sightseeing options in Zichron including the excellent Aronson Museum nearby.
She really made a difference to our wonderful day in Zichron.

The museum is a must if you are visiting the area. It's astounding to read about and watch what the the early settlers to the Land had to cope with. Many paid a high price to see the dream of the restoration of the land fulfilled. The character and determination is challenging. What we see today in Israel is the fruit of struggle, hardship, sacrifice and dedication. What hero's they were! Don't miss a visit!

A visit to this Museum in Zichron Yaakov took us back to the hardships of early settlers arriving in Israel, the Biblical land of milk and honey. Years of hostility, swamps, malaria and disillusionment slowly flourished into a haven of grapes, wines, olive oil, citrus fruits and successful settlements. The museum tells this amazing story in a way that leaves tears in each visitor’s eyes, and a true feeling of pride and achievement.

If you are visiting in Israel then you should try and include Zikhron Ya’Aqov in your tour.
It’s a quaint town, lovingly restored to depict the history of its founders back in 1882. At its heart is the Museum of the First Aliyah.
It’s well worth a visit as it takes you through the history of Zikhron in a fascinating and interesting way with both historic and visual displays as it re-creates in a story timeline the struggle of its original founders to what it is today. On other floors there are art galleries and modern displays.
If you miss it you’ll regret it.

My father, Louis Blumenfeld, was born in Zichron in 1889. He was the son of Moshe and grandson of original settlers Arya Leib and Leah Blumenfeld. My grandmother was a Chaiken whose family was involved in the wine business. Does the museum have any information about my family?
