Definitely worth hiking up to the top. Not very difficult and great views of the Trinity Alps and Siskiyou Mountains. Many of the peaks are still covered in snow and are quite striking.

Great day hike from the Oregon Caves Lodge. Gets pretty hot in the summer, but the view is spectacular.

Mt. Elijah is in the middle of the Bigelow Lakes loop trail that starts, among other places, at the Oregon Caves National Monument. Our usual starting place is from a forestry road that takes off near the monument and eliminates a lot of the climbing. Ask for directions at the information station, maps are available. The entire trail is gorgeous. We usually go there near the end of July, as the wildflowers are spectacular then. It's like stepping back into springtime in the middle of summer. The views from the top of Mt. Elijah are spectacular, and include Mt. Shasta in CA, and many, many more. I rate the hike moderate in difficulty, and worth every step. Wear good hiking boots, bring food and water, and by all means, bring a camera! Here is a link to some of my pictures:
