‪This is one of the cleanest, nicest public spaces on the planet. The public bathrooms were immaculate. The parking lot and boat ramp are beautiful. And the view can't be beat. ‬

‪Wow. You can smell the urine everywhere on the sandy beach! I found out why too. They built the bathrooms too close to the lake and the ceptic leach lines permeate the beach! I guess some people can't smell. They even have to close the area down in July/August when it gets real nasty! Also one last bit of information for pot smokers. Whiskeytown is a FEDERAL park. So YES you can be arrested for posession or anything else they deem arrestable for. Be careful out there!‬

‪We make the trip from Canada down to Anaheim every August and are always on the lookout for unique places to stop and stretch our legs and swim. I had read some reviews on Brandy Creek Beach and we decided to take the 20 minute detour off the I-5 to check it out. We were not disappointed. Although the drive up to the beach can be a little difficult when towing a trailer ( steep and winding road ) there is ample parking for rv and trailers in the second parking lot. $10 for a 7 day parking pass. The beach was beautiful, a good mix of sand and trees, sun and shade. The water was refreshing but more on the warm side. Even the geese that roam the beach were friendly. There are good facilities ( bathrooms ) and, although we did not check them out, there appeared to be places you could rent paddle boards. Although we stopped on a Saturday in 38 degree weather ( 100 degrees Fahrenheit) it was not too busy. Our 12 year old loved it and can't wait to go back. We will definitely stop here again. ‬

‪Spent the weekend at Whiskeytown. It was perfect for the family. We had toddlers and teens who enjoyed the lake. We will be back again before the summer is over.‬

‪We didn't realize Redding area is that hot! Temps into 80s and 90s while Bay Area was stuck in low 60s. After visiting the caverns, we spent a lovely afternoon beach day. Getting to the beach was pretty easy. Parking was within 100 ft of the beach and there was ample parking. The scenery was beautiful and water was pretty clear. Water was very cold though but was a perfect relief from the heat. Plenty of shade from the trees as well and picnic benches in the picnic area. The beach area was really large and never felt crowded. Water , of course was calm being a lake. Lifeguard was on duty to make u feel pretty safe. Few drawbacks. Lots of goose. Cute seeing families of goose around but sucks to deal
With their poop. The sand was really coarse and rocky and took while to get use to. Overall, nice well kept beach . Perfect for relief from the heat!‬

‪This is a fantastic spot for a hot day. The closest parking lot can easily get parked up, but this is actually an opportunity, as the furthest-away parking lot connects you to a gorgeous paved walkway through the woods past Brandy Creek. Even on a hundred-degree day, the walk through the woods to get to the beach was still pleasantly cool because of the tree cover. There are numerous facilities at the beach, even a bathroom at our farthest out parking lot where we were able to change. There were also lots of shady areas along the water that you could enjoy (and reduce the risk of sunburn).

Along the walk to the beach we noted tons of picnic areas. Some groups were set up for birthday parties or more formal picnics and it looked like they were making a day of it. At the water’s edge, others like us just found a spot to set down our towels and enjoy the beach. There are lifeguards during the summer. Well-prepared for a lot of visitors, the beach also had a food stand and a spot to rent paddleboards and kayaks.

The beach itself is located on a roped-off area of Whiskey Lake. The beach is somewhat sandy, although not enough sand to really dig your toes into. The water was incredibly refreshing and a nice cool temperature on the hundred-degree day we were there. Since it is a natural beach you are sharing the water with many (many) ducks and geese, so be mindful, but they won’t bother you if you don’t bother them. The water itself ranges from nice and shallow (including a roped off wading area for kids) to really deep. We swam out to a floating platform in the middle of the swimming area (a great spot for kids to swim out to and take a break) and discovered that the water in the swimming area got quite a lot deeper than we expected, although it did slope down fairly gradually. We would definitely go back on another hot day for more fun in the (partial) sun.‬

‪Brandy Creek offers beautiful, shady beaches. Lifeguards supervise the lake, keeping it safe. Picnic tables are available for use by families, and are usually available in on or off season. The beaches do get crowded, but they're not impossible to navigate. Most of the other beaches at Whiskeytown don't provide as much shade, so those sensitive to the heat of Redding will find relief here. There are lots of little side peninsulas to gain privacy and explore thoroughly. Kayak and stand-up paddle board rentals are available, as well as floats and snacks. Rentals, however, are only available during summer months (roughly memorial day through labor day).‬
