Hi, We have three great helicopter companies in Wanaka offering options to get up into the mountains. There are two based at the Wanaka airport, Wanaka Helicopters and Alpine Helicopters. Their flights generally include heading over the township and stunning lake then up to the mountains so a full vista of our area and the other, Aspiring Helicopters is based, as the base of the mountains so your heli time is straight up and into the mountains. These flights are all weather dependent so if conditions aren't quite right they won't fly. When you say "Mountains", did you want to get into the snow, on top of glaciers or just see beautiful Mt Aspiring and the surrounding mountains? HI there, if you wanted to you can walk to Puzzling World from town, this would take around 30min. Then a taxi to the airport would allow you to go to National toy & Transport as well as Warbirds and Wheels. You would be look at around $25 for the taxi each way.
