Hi Cheyenne, Thanks for climbing with us and great to hear that you are interested in getting in to Via Ferrata yourself! Depending on where you are from it may be better to purchase gear once you are home as it is quite expensive here in New Zealand and also there are only 2 via ferratas here and they are both commercially run and provide all the gear. We use Edelrid harnesses, helmets and lanyards and really like the quality of these. When purchasing gear definitely go for a reputable climbing brand. I also recommend Petzl and Black Diamond as they have great quality gear and are trusted brands. I hope that helps! All the best with your climbing!!

I'd say yes. It wasn't very strenuous, more fun than taxing. And you can take your time if you need to :)

Hi Teow, Thanks so much for getting in touch. And thanks to everyone for their awesome answers above!! Our activity is designed for beginners. If you can climb a ladder and walk on hills for a couple hours, you will be ok on either climb. It is not as strenuous as rock climbing but you are high off the ground and the mental aspect to the height is often what tires people out. Having said that, our systems are super safe, you are always clipped on and you have a guide right there to help at all times. Your guide has ropes and equipment to assist you at any time should you need it. It is really spectacular up there and you get really close to the waterfalls. I think you would absolutely love it. It is true, we do climb up quite high and the scenery is incredible. Most people do have some degree of being scared of heights. It is natural for self preservation. If you do want to look into conquering your fear. This is an excellent way to do it and we have taken many people through that never thought they would be able to do something like this. You will wearing a harness and have the ability to clip yourself in to very strong rungs at all times as well as being closely attended to by our guides. It is similar to climbing a household ladder, difficulty-wise. We do a practice on a boulder first. If this is something you would like to try, I would recommend our beginners tour first as it is less exposed and less steep.
