In February 2023 I booked and paid an expedition to Mt.Nun with Trekmunk. They confirmed soon, but the day of my arrival in Leh, the starting point of the trip, the expedition members were informed that Trekmunk don't has the necessary permit for the booked climb. The 2 bosses of Trekmunk arrived one day later and confirmed this information.
I'm an experienced climber from Ecuador but never ever I have even heard that an agency traps tourists like this company!!! I already went to mountains in counties like Nepal, Pakistan, China, Kyrgyztan and Tajikistan. My first experience in India ended with "Trekmunk Desaster".
Imagine you prepare yourself for several months, postpone business duties and family activities, buy equipment and expansive flights, travel around the world, arrive in India and the expedition leader of Trekmunk tells you that everything was for nothing!! The 2 chairmens of Trekmunk tried to convince the 6 affected climbers from 4 countries and 3 different continents to join into other expeditions to lower mountains, but we would even have to pay more money for this "service"!!! Unbelievable!!!
But if you don't believe it, please book and pay with Trekmunk! You will experience the same.
They refunded the money they charged, but don't refund the cost of flights, time of sacrifice and preparation, loss of earnings....
After some days the 2 bosses of Trekmunk sent a mail and informed me that Trekmunk declares the trip as cancelled, the 2 chairmens escaped from Leh, cancelled our hotel and don't answered any mail or message any more! They abandoned us completely in a foreign country!!
(Every agency fixes reasons to cancel a booked and paid trip, but Trekmunk don't respect their own rules because there was no unforseen circumstances like natural disasters or social disturbings.)
The only DESASTER is TREKMUNK and their 2 bosses!
Be aware!

Trekmunk is the GOAT when it comes to managing treks. Loved every bit of it. It was my birthday too during the trek and they surprised me with a cake baked on 10,000 feet. Never imagined such efforts. Tarsar Marsar batch, august 2023

Iv trekked with alot of companies but nothing and no one came close to the level of easy and luxury provided by trekmunk. Tari our trek leader did an amazing job and Dhiraj who was our booking manager helped us every step of the way.
Loved the experience. Surely will trek with them again soon. Kgl 2023
Luxury in the mountains. Small groups and level A service. Dint expect it to go so well.

We had organised a customised Trek with Trekmunk for Valley of Flower & HemkundSahib from 21st to 24th Aug,2023.The experience
was horrible.Mr Dhiraj & Mr Ranjeet ( Tari ), our tour organiser vanished and stopped corresponding after the 1st day.We had to change the accomodation at Ghagharia at our own expense. All through the Trek , we tried contacting them but to no avail.Even after we returned , we wrote to them but didn't recieve any response till date.We were in Uttarakhand where climate and road conditions were not optimum, even then they were not bothered.
Such unprofessional & irresponsible behaviour is not expected from any Trek Organisers.
I strongly condemn such behavior and would suggest that no one should take Treks with Trekmunk.
#terribleexperiencewithtrekmunk.

With one friend we booked an expedition with Trekmunk to climb Mount Nun. We booked this in January for an expedition starting July 15th for 22 days (until August 5th).
The communication from Trekmunk was good at the beginning but getting close to the expedition we started to get no or few information. When arrived in Leh to meet Trekmunk they were not there on the July 15th and the day after they informed us that we cannot do the expedition because they did not get the permits and nothing was organized for our expedition.
This was I believe the worst experienced I ever had with a company supposed to organize a trip for a group of people (we were 6 people registered for this trip). All of us lost a lot of time / effort and money and the company dropped us down at the last moment.
Would never recommend.

To anyone considering Trekmunk as a trek partner company...DONT!!!. A must read for you so that you can decide not go with them.
We were a group of 28 members wanting to venture into this trek - Tarsar Marsar.
What initially caught attention was Trekmunk accepting members well beyond their capacity. Where other companies accept only till 20 numbers, which Trekmunk also says in their website, they kept accepting people in our team till almost 36(which later dropped to 28). This gave an impression that they are well equipped to handle a big team as us, until we actually saw and experienced the most unreliable experiences, when compared to the earlier treks we went through India Hikes, (Trekmunk :there are too many lessons to be learned by you and you need a good planning and execution team).
I start with the cons and not the Pros , because there are only very few Pros to count on.... And so I will never recommend Trekmunk to anyone...
Cons:
1. Last Minute change of route: While the whole conversation of the trek started well in advance , about 3 months earlier from the trek date, the route which we wanted was through Aru. There was no mention or a caution raised by Trekmunk team headed by Dheeraj as to there may be a change of route, which was a difficult route to take to Tarsar Marsar. Conveniently informing the team two days before the trek start, when all booking and arrangements have been made is nothing but cheating!! Considering there are quite a few first time trekkers, who felt the difficulty in this steep climb. later from the Trek leader we came to know that Trekmunk has no approval via Aru. So we were taken for a ride. Sick :(
2. ill-Prepared for bad weather: Knowing that the weather are unreliable on the mountains, the team was not prepared to handle the sudden heavy showers, Few tents were leaking and water seeping into the tent. The team was informed of the flimsy tent in advance when the weather started to get bad but said they would handle when it starts to rain. But then things went beyond control because of the heavy downpour, by then water has already seeped in.
3. Zero safety measure and first aid: Extremely pathetic to been in a situation where there is no safety measures considered by Trekmunk. The leader did not have a basic thermometer, leave alone other medical safety measures. Oxygen, Pulse and BP of the team was never monitored ,though few of the members had BP issues. A very lethargic approach towards this and not acceptable at all. They dont even have a proper communication tool with them to contact when there is an emergency.
4. Zero involvement of the leader: Except for the first day introduction, there was no briefing for the next consecutive days, no guidance and no motivation from the leader. It was as though each one was trekking individually on their own. What is the use of coming to you, if we had to be on our own and plan each day ourself? If you are training a local to be a guide then please do so professionally.
5. Unprofessional throughout: No proper communication was shared and when asked for information, we get a reply from the coordinator Dheeraj that they are busy with other treks so it is not possible to reply. If you are so short staffed, then why are you over booking yourself when you cant manage it? Atleast communication should have started a week before the trek, but just two day before all the rush and hurry over getting approvals, checking documents etc happens and just a day before informing that the route has changed. Very unprofessional.
Pros:
1. The local guide - Imitiyaz was a real help and God in disguise in a place left all by ourselves as new comers. Without Imtiyas, this trek would be been a total disaster. He was the only person running pillar to post to keep the sanctity of the group in such badly planned. He was enough for this trek and we did not need Trekmunk. His involvement was the best and highly appreciated. He needs to be in a better company to tap his talent and not waste his time and energy here. He handled this show start to end without a frown and smiling an helping throughout. Hats off to Imityaz
2. Local Support team: From the luggage carriers to the kitchen staff and other support staff, you guys were really helpful.
3. Food: This is something we cannot deny of not getting a good one. We are thankful to them for having given nice sumptuous hot lunch each day and each time. Without you this trek would have been draining physically too, you kept up our energy level.

I booked an expedition to Mt. Nun with Trekmunk in July 2023. One day before our acclimatization hike was supposed to start, we found out the agency failed to get us the permits to climb the mountain. However, we weren’t even informed about it by the owners directly, but by a mountain guide they sent. He came to our meeting one hour late and knew absolutely nothing about the expedition or the acclimatization hike. His English knowledge was compromised so only the Indian members of our expedition group were able to communicate with him. Trekmunk also failed to provide us with a substitute solution. Two evenings in a row they brought us other people to consult - a representative of a mountain guides association and an owner of a different agency - but sadly these arrangements didn’t work either. This seemed to have been done just to show us they tried to do something and to shut our mouths up. As for the explanation why they didn’t get the permit, it all sounded like a bunch of lies - bad weather, too many other expeditions on the mountain… In the end, they simply cancelled our expedition, send us our money back and withdrew from all the responsibilities. And then, we were there in Leh already with almost 3,5 weeks of free time to sort out things by ourselves and make different plans. Needless to say, this is time not long enough for organizing another big expedition. There were other agencies organizing Mt. Nun expedition though, but theirs started and finished on later dates which didn’t fit our flight schedule. With that said, I think this agency should be banned from organizing mountain expeditions as they simply lack the skills and competences to do this. Overall, absolutely terrible experience, waste of our time and money to attempt at organizing the expedition with Trekmunk.
