This was a fantastic way to spend an afternoon, The first thing that strikes you on arriving is the beauty of the site, so peaceful in beautiful rolling hills. Then Alan takes you on a walk around the vineyard and tells you about how the vineyard came into being, and then all the detail of what goes into growing the grapes and making the wine. I thought I knew a bit about wine but I learned so much. The groups on the tour are quite small, so plenty of opportunity to ask questions. Then you get to try four of their wines and learn even more! There is a shop and a small cafe. A lovely place to visit, and I would love to go back for a glass of wine and a snack. A great spot to cycle or even walk to from Budleigh. Note however they only open Thursdays to Saturdays.

Wonderful insight into English Wine and growing grapes in England.
Alan’s relaxed history of how it all began, the risks taken and introduction to Viticulture was mesmerising.
It is all down to the wine gods!
Faye then provided a tasting session of the vineyards produce which was very interesting.

Lovely family run vineyard in Devon. Walking tour takes around 45 minutes (steep hills but nothing too strenuous) followed by the wine tasting. All in all about 1 1/2 hours in total. Husband and Wife run the tours and talks and both are very friendly and knowledgable. Really opens your eyes to see what hard work goes into running their vineyard. Lovely afternoon, bought a bottle of wine to take home with us - love it! Definitely recommend this vineyard tour and wish the family every success in the future.

Visited yesterday, wow what an eye opener. The hard work and effort put into these amazing wines is very educational. They are such a lovely couple and deserve every success. Every wine we tasted was excellent and we will definitely be buying more wines through their website. I’m not usually a rose drinker but theirs really is something else. Definitely worth a visit.

Tour and talk of the vines which lasted about 2 hours. this is just one field so a ‘tour’ is a bit of an exaggeration, that said the host was very friendly and interesting and informative. We all learnt a lot. This ended in the tasting room when we tried 4 of their wines, these are lovely and we did purchase some from the on site shop. Toilet and tables on site and the do serve drinks, snacks and tea/coffee. Beautiful part of the world and great value tour, would recommend.

Vineyard visit excellent value for money. The owners are very knowledgeable. Never know there was so much to growing the grapes and all the processes involved to get lovely bottles of wine. After the tour of the vines there was an enjoyable and informative tasting of the sparkling, 2 whites and 1red wine - lovely!

Wow. What an amazing experience to visit a single vineyard. I’m always mesmerised by the knowledge of owners and how they ended up selling wine. They do a quick -+ hour tour of the site, with wine tasting afterwards, and have superior knowledge of growing grapes. Once a harvest has been produced there is not another year with the same wine. This makes Lily’s Vineyard unique. They never sell the same wine again. Every year is a different grape, all handcrafted. Fay and Allen work tremendously hard to make sure every effort is put into their vineyard. Scenery amazing and close to Pooh Cottage on Bear lane. Thank you for a lovely afternoon and great wines! Worth the money!

Lovely sunny September afternoon here. We’ve visited vineyards all over the world (New Zealand/South Africa/France/US) but enjoyed this visit a lot more than other tours we’ve been on. A couple who clearly have a great passion for making English wine and do it well! The tour was highly informative and interesting, I felt quite inspired to give new adventures a go after listening! Also fantastic value for the amount it cost. If you’re nearby I’d really recommend a visit - if you’re not buy a bottle online!

It’s very family friendly. The slopes are fairly wide but quite steep. A sling might be better than a buggy for babies. The tour was informal and friendly and the base/car park always in sight if you did need to leave the tour. I guess you’d need to keep children under control as the vines are delicate and so it’s not a place to let children run freely.
