Based in the old glass factory it is fascinating to see the "cone" from both inside and outside. Helpful and knowledgeable staff.

Have visited many times throughout the year. Always interesting and you see something new each time. Lovely craft shops. Friendly staff.
Not got a 5 rating as the only thing that lets the site down is the cafe. Who are not so friendly and don’t put themselves out for the customer.

Although the cone isn’t actually accessible on the inside we still enjoyed our visit. You can view the cone all the way around from the outside and they have the doors open so can see inside. The exhibits are very informative. The car park was free.

Visited the cafe for brunch with friends. Great food and service. Recommend the toasted cheese, tomato and onion sandwich.

Christmas crafts with Mrs Claus was absolutely perfect. The crafts with the elf were simple but interesting with 3 items to bring home. The little Bell idea to find Mrs Clause was a lovely touch. Mrs Clause was so nice, she engaged my 3 year old Granddaughter with a long mesmerising chat and a nice gift. It was a pleasant change to seeing Santa. Well worth the money. As a bonus you can stay and look round the rest of the museum and visit the cafe.

We had a fascinating visit to the glass cone yesterday . It is great to see the site preserved to show the glass making process. Great coffee shop.

Excellent visit made even more interesting by Adrian, our very knowledgeable guide who told us the history of the glass cone and the art of glass manufacture. We saw glass blowing tool. We also thoroughly enjoyed the glass fusing experience and look forward to seeing our completed painted tiles. Well worth a visit, highly recommended.

Sadly, the cone is being repaired at the moment so there was no glass blowing taking place but there was still plenty to see. The craft shops were quirky and interesting. The display of Stuart glassware was fascinating especially with its link to the Titanic. A lovely way to spend an hour or two and it's free.

The Red House Glass Cone is perfect to visit if you are in the area as it is free to enter. There was demonstration of making glass artefacts and glass art coloured fruits. The demonstration showed the melting of the glass and the melting of the colour onto the glass that came from a power of the colour. The cone had the old furnaces used in the past and behind that was restaurants and cafes with the gift shop located in front of the cone.

Bostin’ little attraction and free! Impressive glass exhibits and information on the area’s glass history. You can even see how glass is made with glass blowing demonstrations. On special occasions like Easter and Christmas, they do games for kids like a treasure hunt where they have to look for items around the museum. It keeps them occupied and they get a prize at the end! There are also independent shops on the complex and a lovely cafe with great cake!

We do also have a cafe on site if you don't fancy chips!
Entry is always free; we charge sometimes for activities.

Thank you for you enquiry. Unfortunately this year we are not able to offer this option. We do adult glass fusing sessions but not hot glass blowing.

Good morning. Yes it is suitable for children of all ages (and grown ups!) We have a free Spooky Duck trail on all week. We also have a permanent Titanic trail which may be suitable for your older child. We also have hot glass blowing demonstrations on every afternoon this week from 12noon to 3.30.
