Nice beach but unfortunately when we were visiting the sea was rough and no swimmers around…. Just a couple taking their wedding photos.

This is a fabulous beach and the Atlantic Ocean was definitely at its wildest when we were there. This beach is not a swimmers beach but is still very much a beach to visit. Beware of the sand flies and also there was a Portugese Man of War Jellyfish on the beach. Make sure you take a look at the fossils in the rocks near the waters edge.

Rough road into a small car park. Gorgeous views from the top. Stairs down to the beach weren’t too taxing. Friendly but not pushy Coconut sellers at both the top and the beach itself. Sea too rough to swim in but an attractive beach.

Gorgeous beach, though the waves and rip tide make it too rough for most mortals to swim. This review is really for the impromptu cocktail stall operated by Yasir under a palm tree. He collects coconuts in the morning then hollows them out one by one for each customer, mixing rum and fruit juice with fresh coconut water. Try a Rihanna! The monkeys come out late afternoon and swing from the trees by the steps.

An amazing Christmas Eve for us & Christmas come early: we had this entire beach to ourselves!
Fabulous place, just a pity about some litter.

Beautiful beach - unspoilt. No chairs or vendors. Perfect for a day away from it all. Steps to get down to the beach. Gorgeous photo opportunities.

Bring your own water...but don't miss this stunning place....You may meet Sam the fisherman who will climb a palm and harvest fresh coconuts...if you have Rum he will appreciate a tot in his coconut...

Esta é uma das praias mais lindas de Barbados - cor da água maravilhosa e recanto intocado...
Fiz localizada mais ao leste da ilha. Junte esta visita a Crane Beach e Foul Bay.
Após Crane Beach, seguir até a H5 (com mapa, não estava no GPS). Seguir a direita até o final, pegar a H4B e seguir até achar a placa de Bottom Bay Road.
A praia é paradisíaca. Pequena extensão e praticamente vazia. Sem estrutura alguma, só tinha o vendedor de cocos e conchas e mais uma família. O mar é muito bravo - cuidado com os caldos.
Ao lado do estacionamento publico, tem um mirante natural ótimo para tirar fotos.
Aproveite a sombra dos coqueiros... como o mar estava bravo, não fizemos snorkeling.
No dia que visitamos tinha algumas algas no mar e na areia.
Paraíso! Recomendo a visita!

Impressive coluors of the water, soft sand,memorable view. Be careful with the huge strong waves there.

We met such a lovely man selling jewellery in the car park at Bottom Bay. We talked to him for ages and bought some ankle bracelets for our children. We asked his name but have since forgotten it. Does anyone know his name? We have booked to go back in August 2020..may be delayed now but when we do go back AND WE DEFINITELY WILL it would be lovely to see him again and greet him by his name.thank you.
I want to know how to get there. The waves are dangerous for little kids or its quiet? Thanks in advance

Hi!
The surf is dangerous for adults but absolutely unsuitable for small children.You can't go far into the water. Despite everything, the beach is beautiful. To get to the beach, I downloaded offline maps (MAPS.ME) at home onto my cell phone and used them to navigate to the beach and other places in Barbados.
However, you should already know roughly where each beach is located so that you can click it on the map.

The road is kind of off-road and really rough yet you drive literally through residential areas until you make it to a small parking "lot" on the rocks/dirt (can't miss it).
I don't recall the signs, we used the google maps and arrived with out a problem - just slow down as those roads in a pretty bad shape
IT'S WORTH THE EXTRA EFFORT, trust me!

I don't think it's for me shame really cos Sea breeze sound's wonderful but a woman on her own needs more safety all thou I never had that when I stay'd in Bridgetown 15 yr's ago?? newly divorced and one of your personel took advantage and even when I got home he asked for money from me !! so safety is the most important thing to me, where is the best place to stay on the island for that for a single woman wi limited means please x

i would look into Sapphire Beach condos. We just stayed there and we know the owners of a few condos. Very safe, Guards on duty, gated. Nice restaurants very close. Feel free to ask me for more details.

Its a bit in the middle of nowhere so you need a car and there are no bars or restaurants near by. Being on the beach alone, although seemed safe, may be a little daunting for a lady alone, but the locals and beach sellers are very friendly and safe.

Is bottom bay reachable by public buses? Also, how far from crane beach is bottom bay? Thanks in advance

Yes there is a bus that drops you off on the main road, however it's about a 10 minute walk to the beach. As someone mentioned before it's about a ten minute drive from Crane Beach to Bottom Bay. Hope this helps!

Hi there, I stayed at BB many times. It is very secluded, you can shade by going to the back of the beach where the cliffs are. Parking is at the top and you walk down some stone worn steps. the swimming is rough, lots of undertows - if you know what to do if you caught in one your Ok - if not - don't, its great to thrash around in the surf though. There are no facilities apart from some locals selling trinkets - they leave you well alone if you are polite.
