‪Schönes Ausflugs Ziel für kleine Geld. In kurzem Zeit kann man vieles entdecken. Auch für ein Kind (8 Jahre) war es interessant.‬

‪A very informative visit with lots of exhibits to look at. Information boards are in English so no probs wondering what the exhibits are. Worth popping into if visiting Piskopiano.‬

‪Lovely little museum‬

‪What a lovely little museum. It’s small but has many interesting things to see. From tools, equipment, clothes, bags, cloths, household objects. For the small admission price it is worth a visit if you’re in the area. Well sign posted so easy to walk to.

Staff were super friendly as well‬

‪Charming vignette of Cretan village life.‬

‪This is situated in the middle of Piskopiano, you can't miss it, in itself a charming village halfway up the hill above Hersonissus. The museum is in the centre of the Village because it is situated where the communal olive press (and grape treading pit) was placed. Indeed they are still there to be wondered at, as well as the ubiquitous Raki distillery. Inside are little living rooms etc and a folk art woven tapestry display - better than it sounds, and a charming display of folk artefacts, including to our delight a wooden dfonkey saddle, as ridden on up to Zeus Cave, previously, and as described in "the Island". There is also a beautiful view from the roof. ‬

‪Interesting insight into rural life‬

‪A small museum with some interesting exhibits from the local area which will particularly appeal to those who like cloth weaving and tapestry. There are also features on blacksmiths, olive pressing, raki production and other aspects of rural life. There are a range of videos to watch which don't take long but are informative and your tour allows you time to enjoy the view from the roof terrace over the surrounding area. Its a nice way to spend some time and a bargain at 4 Euros. If you are staying in New Hersonnissos, you will need to be fit if you are going to walk up the hill.‬

‪Worth a visit‬

‪This is such a lovely little museum, only 4 Euro entrance fee, and its in a wonderful old olive mill. You learn lots about local life and it doesn’t get busy so you can take your time. And you can sit on the terrace with amazing views down to Hersonissos and across the village to the mountains. I love the display of herbs in the entrance too. ‬

‪Nice little museum‬

‪We enjoyed the walk to this delightful museum as its near a beautiful church and the views are wonderful.
Its only small but is very interesting to see the old Cretan way of life and its nicely set out.
Views from the upper floors were amazing.
The staff were very friendly and helpful.
Cost 7 euros each to go in and I think this is good as it helps in maintaining this lovely piece of history.‬

Admission range from 0-4 euros. It's free for children up to 12 years old, 3 euros for 65+ years-old and groups and 4 euros is our general admission. With my best regards Angeliki Baltatzi

‪This is a fascinating Museum‬

‪I visited the Museum on a couple of occasions during my numerous visits to the area. There is a wealth of information to be found. I purchased a book from there documenting the second world war battle on Crete. There are many photos and information to be found here. There are many books to be purchased. I recommend a visit which gives an insight into rural life on the island of Crete.‬
