A secluded, quiet uphill trail leading to Triveni Point from where you can see the beautiful area of Panchgani
There is an entry fee of 25 Rs. The ticket is valid for 5 days from entry date and gives you access to the Lingmala Waterfalls which is good to see when the waterfalls are full of water.
Not crowded at all. You will mostly be on your own. If you are not used to being alone in nature, you might be frightened but there is nothing to fear
There is just one uphill trail. Just before you get to the raised platform, there is a trail going off to the right that seems to lead to a lower gazebo but we didn't explore that
The trail is mostly shaded so we didn't feel the heat. In some places, there are steps that you need to climb.
Worth it, off the beaten track....

This place is opposite to Mapro Garden, some distance away towards Mahabaleshwar. It's entry is known as "Triveni Point". You need to have Mahabaleshwar Forest entry tickets to enter Triveni point. The view point is about a kilometer from the entry gate. You have to walk on a stone paved trail to reach Triveni Point. The Point is on top of a hill, and there is a raised structure at the summit where you can view the surroundings. Many famous points of Mahabaleshwar like Elephant Head point, needle point etc can be seen from the top.
I found it as the best point to view in whole Mahabaleshwar and Panchgani. It is very quiet and secluded. You wont find much tourists around here. I enjoyed the solitude and the deserted feeling, but some people might find it frightening.
But if you are in a group, this definitely is the place to visit.

You feel very close to nature as you enter the 1 km long trail. Though the path is totally uneven,but the forest feel and chirping of birds makes you forget that. Must a visit place whenever you visit Mahabaleshwr

Gureghar Nature trail is not good to visit in the rainy season, the best time to be here in Winters.
The strawberry plants will be there and many more, This nature trail is beautiful, you will feel connected to the soil.

If you are a nature lover then this is the suitable place for you. Nicely made and maintained, with necessary information on trees and plants. Good if you visit during morning and carry water bottle with you.

Nice nature trail right in front of Mapro garden. Easy to access. Parking could be an issue here though

Triveni Point and Gureghar Nature Trail is one of the lesser known attractions of Mahabaleshwar, maybe because it is at a little distance away from the hill station. It is located bang opposite Mapro Garden, which is a major attraction for shopping and dining, on the Panchagani – Mahabaleshwar Road. Most of the tourists visit Mapro Garden and overlook the Gureghar Nature Trail, and hence miss out on one of the most beautiful points of Mahabaleshwar, the Triveni Point, which lies at the end of the 1 km long trail.
We entered through a small gate leading to the trail. Vehicles are not allowed inside. We walked at a leisurely pace up the narrow winding stony pathway which was gently sloping upwards. At times the slope would get steeper and there are rocks and stones on the path. There are trees and bushes on both sides of the trail and we were literally walking in a jungle. Some of the trees had a placard with their common and botanical names attached to them, like jambul, hirda, gella and pissa. There were stone benches at regular intervals so we could rest for a while.
After walking about 20 minutes we reached the watch tower which is the Triveni Point. We got an excellent 360 degree view of the whole Panchgani Mahabaleshwar plateau from here.
It is an easy to do trail by people of all age groups. We started on the trail at around 11 am and were back on the highway at noon. We did not encounter any other tourist on the way. We had only the birds and the bees, trees and forest for company. It is a beautiful place to experience nature at its best. Do remember to wear your trekking shoes and carry your camera when you visit, and not to litter the trail with your garbage.

An short and simple trail which lasted around an hour and it was relaxing.

I was at Mahabaleshwar with family for new year weekend and the crowd and traffic there was mind boggling! Despite that, this place provided us with what we go to a hill station for, i.e, peace and serenity!
The trail is easy but beautiful! My 2.5 year old son finished it uphill on foot. There are benches along the way that can be used to sit down and absorb the nature. The view from Triveni point is mesmerising!
We saw plenty of birds and a barking dear (I think). A good time to go would be 8-9 am as the bird activity is at peak during this time. Other way is to go early morning, climb up to witness the sunrise and do birding on the way back. We couldn’t find the giant squirrels in the morning so we went back in the afternoon and found one right at the entrance of the trail!
It is a must visit place for any nature lover!

Does visiting this place requires permission from Forest Department ? Do they have some fees for the visit ?

Monsoons are also beautiful in Mahabaleshwar though one needs to be very careful about driving due to poor visibility and slippery roads. There are several small n big waterfalls as well during this season!
