A word of caution - reach before the temple closing time of 11.30 and you need to be properly attired - no shorts, frocks, skirts inside the temple premises

This temple is known to be the main temple of Madikeri. Very clean and tidy. One of the oldest temple in the vicinity where one can find peace

Hadn't read about this temple anywhere while researching coorg until our driver suggested we visit. It is a very serene temple away from the hustle bustle with a history dating over 700 years ago.

This is shiva temple which has a big pond in front of the temple, this is very near to the city center point, must visit at Madikeri.

We spent over 40 minutes walking around and looking at all the mythological paintings depicted on its walls after doing a special puja.

Omkareshwar (whose name means "Lord of Omkaara or the Lord of the Om Sound") located in the island called Mandhata or Shivapuri in the Narmada river; the shape of the island is said to be like the Hindu ॐ symbol.

This temple has a unique architecture. It resembles the architecture of a Mosque or a tomb. It is a Shiva Temple with the Jyotirlinga brought from Varanasi and installed.

Like any South Indian temple this is also closed from 12.00 PM to 5.00 PM. So plan your visit accordingly
