This was the first organized day trip to the Azores for me.
It was my first time on Terciera. The weather was very windy and wet for most of the day, mostly also cool a real weather experience for the Azores.
For a photographer, this is of course not a thrilling weather experience because the colors simply need a minimum of sun to come into their own
My guide was Dora, I hope you remember the name correctly. She knows her island as well as her apartment at home, no corner is unknown to her.
It was a very flexible round trip and we agreed to take into account the current weather conditions. I was able to experience an exciting, real Azores day, of course as a photographer I have to say, also suffer, but that only makes the picture complete in terms of the Azores.
I was particularly impressed by the north coast with a point where the waves break particularly attractively, which looks even more exciting in raging seas. I was also fascinated by Terceira’s first 16th century church, especially the entrance and the arches in the sacral building.
Very appealing was also the included lunch with a homemade vegetable stew of excellent quality. The place for this lunch was also particularly attractive in my eyes, there is a sacred view from there and in nice weather people can sit outdoors.
Maybe I will have the opportunity to take another trip in better weather with this organizer.

What most impressed me about this walking tour was the flexibility of the guide. Since in January the weather in Terceira is unpredictable, we waited until the last minute to decide where exactly we would hike. The 2-hour path along the north coast that took us to hidden bays was precisely the right choice. The guide was engaging and kind and I enjoyed the unexpected snack at the end. I highly recommend booking this tour!

My husband and I had the 1/2 day 4x4 tour booked but had a private tour of the island with Antonio. Was a wonderful informative experience. Antonio was outstanding, friendly and taught us so much about the culture and island experiences. Would definitely book another tour with Antonio being our guide.

Our guide, Dora was very knowledgeable and friendly. She took us all over the Island and explained everything in detail.

Carolina was an excellent tour guide and we did enjoy what we saw. She speaks perfect English and is very knowledgeable about the island. The reason I gave it 3 stars was for the jeep itself. There were 4 adults in the back of the jeep (2 bench seats facing each other) and that turned out to be very uncomfortable. If you were the people in the front or middle seats, you had a good ride and could see outside. The 4 of us in the back could hardly turn around to look out the windows, not to mention how hard it was to get in and out of the back. It would be ok for kids, just not for 4 adults.

Thank you for your review, it is a 9 seater with the driver, i understand your point and have to tell you that to avoid that you can always book it private that way the jeep is yours and you seat as you please,

Our driver/guide was Antonio, he was fun, knowledgeable, took us to places known only to locals. We saw stunning views, drove winding roads we shared with goats & saw cows on hilled terraces. We went to natural pools, saw windmills and waterfalls, I would highly recommend this tour.

Four of us took the cooking class with Antonio and Lindsay and it was fantastic!! We learned so much and laughed so hard! Antonio picked us up at our hotel and whisked us to his beautiful property. He provided drinks and delicious appetizers while our food cooked. The meal itself was the best we had on the Island. On the way back he showed us a couple of sites that were true hidden gems. Our day with Antonio was truly a highlight in our trip to the Azores!

Hello from Vermont, USA! I would love to reserve your "In and Around" 4X4 tour for my upcoming trip to Terciera! I only see options for "private" tours on the days I am available. I am a single women traveler and would prefer to join a fun group! Can you fit me in on any of these days: Sat Feb 9, Mon Feb 11, or Tues Feb 12?? I look forward to your reply! Obrigada, Lisa

Hello thank you for your inquiry if you plan to see a lot of the Island i sujest you do a "In & arround Terceira tour on a 4x4" with US which includes an outdoor lunch with local foods, and you Will have a great perception of the island and then if you rent a car (we can get it for you for 25€ day) you can go back to the places you liked Best, the Tour is 85€ Pax
