Don’t bother with the cafe! Service so slow! Had run out of things but not busy and not the best of food when it did eventually arrive! Shan’t visit again.

The gardens have an unbelievably good setting, with lakes and a viaduct. The gardens were still full of interest and colour despite being well into autumn.
Garden staff were friendly, knowledgeable and enthusiastic.

What a gorgeous spot in the centre of Shepton Mallett. We took a good look around the beautifully kept gardens and enjoyed taking lots of photos with our teenage girls. Can’t say they loved it (what teenagers would) but we came away with some fab photos. Would highly recommend buying a bottle of the showerings triple vintage cider…..would have bought a case if we could fit it in the car but sadly not! Holiday packing!

This inspirational 3½-acre garden is well planted with interesting specimens, both informal and formal.
An almost level path, rising to the north-east of the garden, is punctuated with seating allowing the visitor to relax and take in the various views.
My mother was almost able to go all the way round the garden on her mobility scooter, but unfortunately was unable to complete a full circuit as at least one ramp needs adding over the steps about the formal rose garden.
The Charlton Viaduct, which dominates Kilver Court garden, creates a dramatic backdrop to all the flora.
I didn't see the duck family during this visit - usually with their latest brood - possibly because the pond they normally occupy is in bad need of attention; the islands were all overgrown and the algae has taken over.
However, following a change of owner-ship of Kilver Court and a period of neglect, it would appear that attention has returned to the garden as throughout our visit someone - who was clearly in charge - was instructing a tradesman with regard to various garden tasks.
Did see an egret, but due to 'finger trouble', completely failed to get a decent photograph.
For anyone interested in horticulture, Kilver Court Garden is well worth a visit.

Beautiful tranquil gardens , not very big but very well planted with interesting specimens, both informal and formal. A level path and plenty of seating to relax and take in the different views,

An amazing find in Shepton Mallet. Tucked away behind a plain factory is a fantastic secret garden. Set against the imposing structure of a stone viaduct with a beautiful pond/lake in front is an amazing garden of all different shapes and views. The planting is both impressive and interesting and anything that you don’t know is easily answered by the gardeners, two of whose have been involved with the garden for 40 odd years.
An amazing find and definitely worth the visit.

fabulous little gardens in a super setting yes you will probably say wow...lovely felaxing....do not miss these reasonably priced gardens they are superb.

Although quite small, these gardens are well worth a visit. They are very well maintained and stunning. The backdrop of the viaduct is an added bonus.

A beautiful,surprising garden in the centre of Shepton Mallet. Built by the Quakers for the factory workers in the lace factory. A lovely lake and trickling water against a backdrop of the viaduct.

Greeted warmly although entrance is more difficult to find, probably out of season. We were the only ones there so had the garden to ourselves. It’s very pretty but very small. So you can be around 30, so not an all day thing.

Hello! Most of the garden is accessible by wheelchair but there is one small rockery section that is not. Unfortunately dogs are not allowed in the gardens.

Unfortunately, we do not allow dogs (except guide dogs) into our gardens or our stores, however they are welcome around the rest of the site.

My mum is in a wheelchair. Is it disabled friendly as I am sure she would to visit before we get on the steam train ride.

Hello there,
Due to the historic nature of our site, we do have limited wheelchair access. Access to the shops is largely wheelchair friendly and about half of the gardens can be accessed via wheelchair, however there are some uneven paths which can also be slippery when wet.
