What a beautiful place ... easy to access parking right up next to the mountains .. so do not take the shuttle down the pass ..

Very nice hike of the Hole of the bomb from the pass of Bavella. (follow red trail - count 2-3h according to walkers). The hike is mostly shaded, it is less hot than in the valleys, so it is appreciable at this time. We parked our car at the Shuttle Check-out Park (near the racetrack between Zonza and the pass. The price is lower than in the car parks of the pass (€1.50/h instead of 2.50 at the pass). The shuttle passes every half hour in the morning and returns every hour in the afternoon and takes us quickly to the pass. The driver is very friendly and gives us good advice to enjoy the place. There is free parking at the pass but you have to arrive early in the morning to have spaces otherwise some park by the roadside or opt for paid parking. Everyone to see but we personally liked this shuttle system.

The site should be protected ... I had already left a review a few years ago. Things got worse. Wild camping. Cars parked anywhere on a narrow mountain road. Overcrowding around the basins given the fragility of this remarkable site: the river will soon be polluted and all those who use it for commercial purposes will one day be the first losers. Amateurs respectful of the mountains will turn around and only those who consume it without realizing.
Mass tourism is not suitable for such extraordinary places.Perhaps those responsible for tourism in Corsica could imagine a solution to reconcile the legitimate desire of tourists to admire these wonders of nature and the concern to preserve the place?
I confess my desolation at seeing groups of cars or buses coated with sunscreen get off before reaching the banks. Not to mention the waste that litters the trails and the risk of fire.
I rarely write negative messages but there is an emergency. Raising visitor awareness of the risks of pollution, fire, danger to flora and fauna? All ideas are welcome!

We were towards Sagone and the drive seemed a bit long but we were not disappointed with these beautiful landscapes! the drive was worth the detour. We started from the parking lot of the Hostel of the pass, a paid parking, but if you park a little before or near the Hostel it is free. we opted for the 3h30 hike of the refuge. it takes this for the indicated timing so much it goes up and up again... It is a hike in the forest where we meet the real hikers of the GR 20. Babella needles are a place not to be missed!

A big walk we could not do, but what we saw was beautiful. Many different walks possible in a beautiful setting.

We came from Ajaccio, the trip was worth the trip. Superb setting despite some passing clouds. Parking is charged, this avoids parking anywhere.

Magnificent site, we are very close to nature in this place. In April not many people it's perfect. Very narrow road at certain passages.

Bavella is our must-see place in Corsica. Victim of its success, barriers were installed all the way up and paid parking set up...the price of tourism which takes away from Corsica its wild side

A magnificent place in southern Corsica :-)))
Numerous hiking possibilities of all levels, including various variations of the GR 20 :-)))
An easy walk to the Trou de la Bombe in 2 - 3 hours - a nice little tour :-)))
Arrive early because there can be a lot of people at the pass and parking is difficult and rather expensive in the parking lot ;-)
There are also many rivers in the surrounding area and many possibilities for swimming in very pretty tubs :-))))
We liked it :-)))

Bonjour, oui c'est possible. Les départs sont tous au même endroit, à savoir au-dessus de l'auberge (il y a un parking). 3 promenades différentes sont possibles et c'est assez accessible au niveau de la difficulté.

bonjour les point d'eau , chute d'eau ... son loin a pied ? on compte y aller mais avec nos filles de 4ans et demi

A bavella (col de bavella) peu de point d eau hormis peut être le parcours du trou de la bombe ...
ce parcours peut se faire avec des enfants mais pas l autre celui avec la variante alpine ...

Des vues sont magnifiques proches du parking. Une balade d’une heure en suivant les balises oranges existe et donne de beaux points de vue (sans difficulté pour les 7 ans et plus) sans beaucoup de dénivelé.

Hello, Corsica do not hesitate to travel by car to different activities!
But personally I recommend the Corsican west side.
