Hidden behind the library and upstairs is the Brigg Heritage centre. Three rooms full of interesting history about the land and Brigg's development over the years. A 3000 year old raft is a highlight. Whilst I didn't have my children with me there was interactive displays which I know they would have enjoyed, as well as the Brigg tour leaflet for kids.
I was met by a wonderful volunteer, Paul, who talked me through some of the more ghostly goings on in the area. As a psychic medium I am often fascinated to hear others stories.
Highly recommend a visit whilst in there, there is also a cafe downstairs or the Steel Rooms across the way

Visited last month on the trail of my family history. My dad’s family all came from the lovely town of Brigg.
We received a very friendly welcome from Chris and her 2 male colleagues, who could not have been more helpful.
They found a number of documents about my family from the local paper archives. The name of everyone who is mentioned in the newspaper is indexed, and it didn’t take long before 3 or 4 articles appeared about my ancestors., including a photo of my father playing cricket in the street age 9 in knee length shorts. I was thrilled as I had never seen it before.
The Brigg Bronze Age raft was interesting to hear about too.
There is a lovely cafe in the courtyard downstairs for lunch.
I really recommend the Heritage Centre if you would like to find out anything about the history of Brigg, or if you are tracing your own family history. There is a handy car park very close by too.

This is a hidden gem tucked away and on the first floor above the library. It is a shame it is not more prominent on the main square as it houses a fascinating collection of things including the remains of a Bronze age boat. The video about how it was found and excavated is worth watching. The volunteers are delightful and eager to welcome visitors.

Popped here on an off chance and loved the local museum. There is an exceptional artifact there (go see for yourself) which really demonstrates the local history and ongoing settlement of the area.

Have meant to visit this place for ages.Today managed it and it was a really good experience. There was so much to see and the kind man in charge was so helpful. The big thing is the bronze age boat. There is a exellent war gallery. Lots of dressing up clothes for kids. Also a informative film with seats for when you flag.

Not the first time of visiting and won't be the last. Good lunch menu with lots of choice, even for a hungry cyclist. Very attractive venue in covered courtyard, very efficient and friendly staff. Only drawback on this occasion was the lack of nearby cycle parking - I had to use one of their drainpipes which I would prefer not to do.

I live locally and have intended to visit for a long time, today I took the opportunity to pop in with my grandma. We were immediately welcomed by the lovely staff members who were very pleased informative. Enjoyed a look around and was lovely to see what artefacts have been found in the local area. I will visit again and spend more time reading the information boards and looking at the pictures.

We wandered in and found a fabulous exhibition space run by volunteers showing the history of Brigg. The volunteers were really friendly and knowledgeable and there was so much to see. Thoroughly enjoyed it!

there I was going down the highstreet when I realise.... where has nan gone?!? so I ran to the place she loves the most(the heritage center) and the best employee Tim came to my rescue and gave me my nan back.

Went in one Wednesday to have a look around, very interesting information and display indeed. Extremely polite staff who are knowledgeable. Answered all my questions and even came over to have a chat.
