A beautiful ride on lovely horses Alice our guide was excellent in getting us onto the horses and making sure we were all at ease. Our two hour trek was up and over high ground giving wonderful views. The horses were lovely and we felt safe with them. Definitely recommend.

We had a half day trek, in the sunshine, through some of the most stunning countryside Wales has to offer. The horses were really calm and beautifully looked after. Alice, our guide, was completely wonderful - thank you for an unforgettable experience. Money well spent!

Absolutely brilliant, 8 of us did the hour trek out.. it worked perfectly for our group type! Alice is so patient, professional & perfect at her job! All the horse were so calm & understanding with our beginners out of the group.. will definitely be returning for a half day trek, fully recommend!

Alice was a fantastic guide and really made me and my daughter feel at ease on our first pony trek. Neither of us had an experience riding and she made the whole trek so comfortable. The trek itself was amazing, going along the paths and through a river. Thank you so much for an amazing day out

My very first time on a horse / pony, the kind people working there helped me trough all the fears, and were expert guides throughout the tour. The tour itself was wonderful with many stunning views of the hills and Forrest. It included a real horseback river crossing ! ( bucket list material ! ) highly recommended 10/10

We did a great 'Half Day' Trek, which lasted about 2 hours (doesn't sound long but definitely the right duration!). We really enjoyed our trek, which was through some beautiful scenery, including through a river!
Alice was a very knowledgeable guide, and controlled all the Horses really well, which was perfect for a novice like me.
All in all would highly recommend doing a pony trek if you're staying in the area.

An excellent experience in a fantastic location, Alice and Scarlett were very kind and easy going and taught us the basics to be able to go straight out! The horses are all well looked after and you can tell the staff care very much for them, i really recommend it to anyone heading to Elan Valley.

We've just had a fantastic time this morning riding in the hills. Alice offers a very professional and friendly service. The horses are lovely & responsive, the scenery is sensational. Very impressed by the care & cleanliness of all riding equipment & the sanitary use of plastic caps to be used under any borrowed helmet. We can highly recommended coming here if you're in the area.

Alice was fantastic at making myself and Mum feel safe as first time riders. We went through beautiful lanes and bridleways. We did get extremely lucky with the weather. Definitely something to repeat.

A wonderful morning trekking with Alice on her lovely horses. We were cared for expertly by Alice for the whole time-she carefully matched the horses to us and we spent a lovely morning trekking through the wonderful Welsh countryside. It was our granddaughters first time properly riding a horse and she loved it -as we all did. Highly recommend this trip. Stables are immaculate and horses very calm.

Will there be any stop off points for pictures on the way? Do you get to choose out of Western and English what saddle you want?

How good is this trek for experienced riders? Are there opportunities to canter through the lovely scenery?

Yes! So long as you let Alice know you are experienced she will most definitely factor this into the ride!

we are staying in élan valley from 23rd December to 28december.

Dear Amanda
The pony trekking is now closed for the winter months
Re opening in May 2016 as the ponies are having a well earned rest out of the winter weather.
I hope you enjoy you stay in Rhayader and come and ride with us in the summer
