My friend and I attended the Frost Fair that is held in December. This being the first one in three years. The park itself is vast and beautiful.
Lovely to see the ducks, geese, birds, squirrels etc. Just be aware as many parks are facing you will occasionally see a rat scurrying across the water ways....

This place is soooooooo fun and sooooooooo fun playground and the food is soooooooooo good I definitely recommend ( by a child)

A lovely open space with a profusion of different trees and shrubs, winding paths, a small river, ponds with ducks and geese; or watch the squirrels at their antics.... Lots of park benches. You'd happily pay a tenner to spend time here... but it's free! There are also areas for football, tennis etc and a discreetly placed children's playground. A local gem of a park, no doubt about that.

We had been in the Greyhound pub for lunch opposite see my review, and afterwards we decided to walk around the park and the Carshalton Ponds.
The view from the other side of the ponds are extraordinarily, with the church and the Greyhound it looks like they are sitting on ponds, a painters dream.
We entered the park through a hole in the wall and watched the wildfowl going about there daily business, we also saw herons flying overhead.
We walked pass a little waterfall,before passing the war memorial that parades the falling,I bet this is very somber on armistice day.
We passed the old ford and the pond side cafe, before making our way back to pub car park before coming home.
So Im summary this village,will put you in a
Groove to walk around after your meal.
Thumbs up to Carshalton .

We live quite close to this park but I never tire of it and neither does the wildlife! If you want to get up close and personal with herons or share your chips with a squirrel you won't be disappointed. The flower beds are always beautifully kept and the cafe does a great waffle, what more could you want?

The grove is our local park, my daughter loves it here...

Lots of places to run and explore
Everybody who goes to the grove always friendly as well.
Small gripe - the people who still feed lumps of bread to the ducks despite the several signs saying not to.

Good children's play area, lots of wildlife and places to play ball and explore. On the 157 bus route and in the centre of the village.

Nice place for a walk. Beautiful ponds with lots of ducks. Plenty of squirrels to feed. Kids playground, cafe.
Shame the crazy golf is not refurbished, this would attract more people and no doubt make plenty of money.

Great atmosphere, top service and excellent food. You need to book as always full at weekends. Also great for functions and large group bookings.

The car park opposite the Co-op in the High Street is next to the park if you park at the back of the car park, but it is a pay and display. I used to park in Mill Lane which was free and go in the entrance by the river. I guess you could always use Westcroft sports centre car park which is free and enter the park by that way.

the grove was very much a part of my childhood I need to research its wartime history, I remember it as a clinic for mothers and babies but think that might have been after the war.

I am from NS myself but there is a History Museum right by the park cannot remember what it is called at this moment but they have a lot of archives and should be able to help you with the research.
