Vi var 3 som spillede San Roque new course den 28. Maj 2023. En PGA pro I HCP +2 og to klubgolfere i hcp10/12. Skrækkelig oplevelse, rystet over standen på banen. Vil betegne den som det værste jeg har oplevet i Spanien gennem de sidste 20 år.
Med tanke på at man kommer tilrejsende, med begrænset tid og derfor prioriterer i mulige runder, så vil jeg betegne det som skammeligt at der ikke gøres opmærksom på standen.
Kommer ikke igen og vil fraråde spil på banen. Spild af tid/økonomi og man går derfra i en trist stemning, efter en dårlig oplevelse.

Selten so einen ungepflegten Platz gespielt. Preis / Leistung hat nicht gepasst. Sehr ungepflegte Fairways , eigentlich gar nicht vorhanden. Bunker voller Steine etc.

Die Ankunft im San Roque Club ist noch sehr vielversprechend, alle sehr freundlich und alles sehr edel.
Wir wurden vom Marshall zum Abschlag 10 (am Abschlag 1 wäre eine Gruppe vor uns gewesen) vom New Course eskortiert und auf die Wasserspender hingewiesen.
Der Blick auf die Bahn 10 hat schon nichts mit den Fairways vom Old Course zu tun. Es ist nur kurz gemähtes Unkraut. Das eigentliche Erlebnis sind die Grüns und die Grünbunker. Die Bunker besehen aus einer harten braune Masse, von Sand keine Spur. Wenn man das Grün erreicht hat geht das Abenteuer weiter. Ich konnte in jeder Puttlinie mindestens 3 verschieden Grassorten mit unterschiedlicher Wuchsrichtung ausmachen. Insbesondere längere Grassorten die durch das mähen flach waren haben den Ball beliebig abgelenkt.
So etwas bracht man nicht, auch wenn der Platz mit 60€ recht günstig war, ist das noch viel zu viel.
Schade, der Platz hat ein sehr schönes und recht anspruchsvolles Design. Höher Handicaps habe da wenig Freude.

The clubhouse, service and staff are without fault, breakfast on the terrace this morning was perfectly cooked and a very large portion size. This aspect of San Roque is great.
The new course on the other hand was a major disappointment, the greens in particular were in terrible condition. We were a party of 12 golfers and not 1 player had anything good to say about the greens, some of the general maintenance of
off fairway areas was also rather poor.
Another major niggle was that the buggies were linked to the cluhouse gps and often would not move in a forward direction even though they were on the cart paths. Every group had problems with this so it seems like a software issue that should be rectified

Really lovely course and great service (if your booked on teh old course)
The Course - Old course. You can definitely see where the money has been spent. The whole course is pristine. Its long but very playable and probably has the easiest greens to read than the other courses we played (Reserva / Finca Cortesin / Valda)
Service - Brilliant. Nice water bottles as gifts, great service from the caddy masters and the best value beer on the courses :-)
Food and drink in teh bar / restaurant was of good value and quality also, Definitely worth a visit to play the old course.
Note - The club is looking to restore the New course so check with the club for updates on the state of this course before playing,

I’ve been playing san Roque new for a number of years and, up till last year, it has always been in fantastic condition. Last year was awful, complete neglect. Weeds growing wildly on fairways tees are awful and let’s start on the greens. Covered in mixed grasses with weeds growing widely on all the surfaces. I thought that this might’ve been due to some staff shortages during pandemic so we went back this year. It was worse. They obviously don’t care about this course or the people who are playing it. I played the old course the day before and was treated like royalty .. it was fantastic .. as was the course. When I played the new, even the buggy I was given had it’s satnav disabled. It was like we didn’t exist.
It’s a real shame SR New used to be great and SR Old now is … but at obvious cost to new course

What an amazing golf venue. First class experience from start to finish. Played the course on Thursday the 7th of July. What a treat, but what a beast of a course. We never played our best, but still loved every minute. Special online offer direct with the golf club, which was great value for such a top venue. We received a special welcome, and gift of a San Roque insulated drinks container, and were made to feel really welcome from start to finish. Thank you San Roque, hope to see you again soon.

Wir hatten auf Empfehlung den New Course gespielt, da der Preisunterschied den Old Course angeblich nicht rechtfertigt. Wir würden es nach Spielen des New Courses umgekehrt sehen, da dieser (momentan zumindest) richtig schlecht gepflegt ist. Sehr schade, aber vllt. hat die Corona Zeit hier ihre Spuren hinterlassen ... wie in so vielen Bereichen im Tourismus einfach die Kollateralschäden (ohne dass viele Betreiber etwas dafür können, weil einfach nach dieser schwierigen Zeit das Geld und Personal fehlt) sichtbar sind. Der Preis war dafür sehr fair! So haben wir es auch eingeschätzt, weil vom herzlichen Empfang im Golfshop (der extrem gut und innovativ sortiert ist) bis hin zur Übungsanlage und dem Restaurant alles exzellent ist.

We played today San Rogue New Course, horrible experience. New course condition is poor including fairways, greens and bunkers. I dont know do they treat or repair the course anyway. Hope so they are going to close the course.

Leider war das Wetter sehr kalt . Der Platz vom langen Regen gezeichnet . Buggy nur auf den Wegen . Verständlich . Trotzdem weite Wege zwischen den einzelnen Schlägen .
