Good boots recommended, otherwise easy. Worth visiting! We received a message that we could start earlier than we had booked "because of heat", which we made use of.

Es ist ausgesprochen sehenswert für alle Naturfreunde. Ein großes Plus sind die Mitarbeiter des Barranco, welche auf der Strecke postiert sind. Sie haben uns auf dem Rückweg ganz großartig aus einer sehr misslichen Lage geholfen. Vielen Dank an Andrei und sein Team.

Undemanding route, beautiful views. I expected more birds but it was still interesting. I recommend to see something other than the beach.

Schöne kurze (ca. 2,5-3h) Wanderung, die aber dennoch anspruchsvoll ist. Der Wasserfall ist super schön, schade nur das man dort nicht all zu lange verweilen kann.

Vielen Dank Dgroenveld für Ihre Bewertung und Ihre Empfehlung. Der Wasserfall ist zwar klein, aber er ist etwas ganz Besonderes, denn er erhält sein Wasser von den vertikalen Regenfällen und den Wolken, die in der Schlucht kondensieren, Phänomene, die weltweit selten gleichzeitig auftreten.

Walking the Barranco del Infierno is quite an experience. I would recommend going early, when it’s not hot outside yet. The walk starts with around 3,2km (mostly) uphill. The first part is quite open, later you get a lot of vegetation, so the walk is a nice mix. After 3,22km you turn around and do the same part backwards. Be aware that you have to wear a helmet (provided) at all times and that on the final 750m before (and after) the halfway point you can’t stop for more than 30 seconds due to the risk of landslides.
The walk is doable even if you aren’t in tip top shape, but don’t underestimate it!
Bring lots of water (at least 1L per person) and a nice snack for the halfway point.
There is parking available nearby, but be prepared to walk 5 mins on the steepest road you’ve ever seen.

It is true that it is advisable to come early because the temperatures are milder and bring water, some snacks to eat and appropriate footwear.

Wunderschöner Weg, sehr abwechslungsreich, sehr vielfältige Vegetation, leider nicht mehr frei zugänglich. Der Wasserfall wird mittlerweile "bewacht", "Aufenthalt nur 5 Minuten erlaubt", schade, früher haben wir dort immer Brot gegessen und Rast gemacht. Scheint zuviel passiert zu sein, Helm ist auch Pflicht. Deswegen ein Punkt Abzug.

You must book online beforehand. Saturday appears a good day as it is travel day for many visitors to Tenerife. Taxi from Costa Adeje is about 15 Euros incl. tip. After a short introduction/instruction you're off with your helmet. We booked hiking shoes but any type of closed shoes were accepted, and in fairness nothing more technical is needed. If you can climb stairs, you can do this hike. In one minute you're in the gorge, with stunning views forward and back. Really nice light if you go early and cooler as well. It can be done within 2 hours if you rush it but why not take your time and enjoy the views, the fresh earthy smell and the canopy of sounds, frogs, insects, birds. The last third of the way out you get down to the stream and it becomes very lush. The actual waterfall is not the attraction, but the towering walls of the gorge make more than up for it. Again the morning light will make you feel you're exploring an area that has just been created for you. Plus it gets much busier later in the day, as it is an out and back trail, often just comfortably wide enough for one person. There is a guard ensuring that no-one takes a shower or a bath. The hike is absolutely worth it. There is a restaurant/cafe once you return and if you have energy enough you can save the taxi fare and walk another 80 minutes back to Costa Adeje, all downhill.

Hello,
I have booked a walk for two people to take place on Tuesday 31st December 2019 at 11a.m; booked via your website.
However, I have been told that it is currently closed for weather reasons.

Dear Rachel,
The path is currently open, it only closes when there are meteorological alerts, wind or rain.
If the weather is good, December 31 will be open normally. Every day around 8:30 we assess if the path is in optimal conditions to open or not, in this case we notify customers.

Are the walks available to do any day during the week, as opening hours are only showing up on their website as Saturday and Sunday,

Existe un parking próximo, justo al lado del edificio cultural de Adeje, si no encuentra parking libre.

Una vez que hago la reserva, y llego al punto de encuentro, la ruta la hacemos solos??, la hora a la que reservo tiene que ser exacta??, y por último el casco lo proporcionan ustedes??

A su primera pregunta la respuesta es sí, es una ruta autoguiada.
La hora es fijada en el calendario para que no coincidan muchas personas dentro a la misma hora pero, es recomendable comenzar temprano para evitar las horas de más calor, pues si la temperatura es muy alta el horario de cierre es antes de lo normal. Es este punto le recomendamos que reserve y luego puede venir antes para comenzar temprano o llamarnos por teléfono.
Y los cascos son facilitados por nuestro personal antes de comenzar con la experiencia.
