At the top of the hill looking over the town and harbour is this beautiful Cathedral. It’s quite stunning inside and very well looked after. Outside has stunning views out to sea making it well worth the effort of climbing the hill.

Ibiza Cathedral is the main religious building located in Ibiza Town, the main city in the homonymous island. It is located in the higher area of old town and really it is a singular building, you can see from all the city, especially from the port.
It is a religious building built in the 13th Century in a Catalan gothic-style with a nave built in a Barroque-style. In fact, it is a big building. Nowadays, you can see it and visit it and the diocesan museum. I could see the cathedral, the altar and their naves. Pitifully, I came here in January and the museum was closed at this season. Very nice an iconic building in Ibiza.

Catedral del S.XII en estilo gótico-catalán, el interior barroco del S. XVIII. Solo visitarla de paso si se esta en Dalt Vila. Las vistas de la ciudad muy bonitas.

Per essere la cattedrale non è molto grande ma è parecchio carina da visitare, caratteristica la struttura esterna, un pochino spoglia internamente dai colori molto chiari. Fate bene attenzione agli orari di apertura perchè sono abbastanza ridotti (cosa strana per una cattedrale). Di sera illuminata fa la sua scena. Dalla piazza della cattedrale avrete anche un bel panorama sul porto. All'interno della stessa ha sede il museo diocesano con svariate opere di arte sacra oltre a diversi pezzi liturgici.

Nice walk to get there or easily reachable with a taxi so you only need to go down after - which is easier and so you can visit or stop at the nice places to drink or eating on your way down!

No tiene nada especial, únicamente el emplazamiento, en lo alto de la ciudad y rodeada por la ciudadela. Se trata de una iglesia moderadamente grande, pero pequeña para ser la catedral de una ciudad. El interior es anodino y no tiene ningún interés.

…befindet sich die Kathedrale, leider hat sie Montags geschlossen. Trotzdem lohnt der beschwerliche Aufstieg. Nebenan findet man die hilfreiche Touristen-Information.

We walked to the castle area and cathedral from the back and it was quite a climb. It’s perfectly positioned and in super condition. Worth a visit.

As I walked into the Church, I took in the statue of Christ. The artist who designed the statue was incredibly talented (apparently completed relative recently in the 20th century). I haven't had a religious experience in years but in that moment I definitely felt something (don't ask me what). I proceeded to go to into another room where there were paintings. I was struck with the beauty of the paintings and decided to take a picture (without flash). Then this incredibly rude man said: "por favor no picture" (no pictures please). The religious experience was over. I explained to him that I thought that the no picture policy only extended to "pictures without flash". He rudely mocked me and said "its in the door". It wasn't. Sir: you don't have to ridicule people. The great time that I was having stopped; religious experience gone. All because of this guy, that doesn't know the true meaning of religion. I then remembered why I stopped being catholics. Its because of people like this guy, that distort what were probably some good teachings in the beggining, and turned those good teachings into crap. Thank you guy, for ruining my vacation. Thank you to whoever sponsored this in the church, as well. To the Church: its suppose to be the people's church. Once again, you have distorted the teachings. I remember now why I and a lot of people have never liked you.

Una de los lugares que no hay que perderse en la visita al Dalt de la Vila de la ciudad, es la catedral dedicada a Santa María de las Neus del siglo XIII que encontraremos en la parte alta de la villa con su aspecto de fortaleza y a la que se llega en un bonito paseo por sus estrechas y empinadas calles.
