Such a relaxing and nice way to spend the afternoon seeing parts of the island you might not see ordinarily (and learning something along the way) once we'd done the beach tour, we soon decided to come back another day to do the more cultural trip.
There were a few crossovers, but on the second time that just gave us a little more reason to explore the surrounding area. In fact, while bumpy in places, you probably got more of a feeling for the island on the journey than you did as the destinations.
The stops in each place are sometimes too quick - especially if you decide to get food or drink, as the service in general on this island is not exactly swift - and while many of the bars and restaurants near the stop off points are more than aware you're on a tour and the "train" driver is probably on commission to bring you to some of these spots, they're not exactly rushing to get you seen to.
But in general, great value for money, and more interesting than drinking on a sun lounger all day.
You don't have to get there too early, but bear in mind it's first come first served, and some times it's busier than others. Pay on the "train" and it leaves from just by the sign advertising the different tours, near the glass bottom boat shack, on the other side of the road from the Alua Soul Hotel

Excellent trip, 3 hours well spent. You get such a different view of the holiday, lots of woods, lovely wee village and superb picturesque beaches. Well worth €20

We went on the morning tour to the church and then 3 beaches. 10 minutes stop at the church was more than enough time. We went to 2 beaches for half hour each and a fishing cove for 20 minutes. Maybe it would be better to spend longer at just one beach as both were down steep hills. As my husband has heart problems we didn't bother with the 2nd one as he'd struggled on the first so spent the time having a drink in the bar at the top.
The commentary was interesting although sometimes lost in the noise of accelerating up hill. It was interesting to see some different parts of the island and worth the 20 euros each.

We had such a brilliant and fantastic time on this little excursion. It was €70 for three adults and a child but well worth it in my opinion. There was a power cut when we were trying to board and pay but the driver let us on and we paid at the first stop to avoid us missing out.
We left Es Canar (outside Alua Sol) and went through the farmlands and countryside before stopping at a little village and three beaches.
Each stop gives enough time for little look around or a dip in the sea - two of the beaches you got half an hour to explore. My two boys went straight to the sea and me and my husband went to the beach side bars ☺️
It was a really lovely way to see parts of the island which are not ‘touristy’ and which you wouldn’t see unless you had a car and the scenery is beautiful. The train is open which is welcome in the heat, so you get a nice breeze whilst driving around. There is a commentary which tells you about the areas you are in, some of the architecture and native trees etc. This was in three languages and was really informative.
We had a mix of ages, with an 18 year old being one of them. The 18 year old said it was his favourite part of the holiday and I have to agree, it was really beautiful and well worth the three hours and money and I would thoroughly recommend it!

We were very surprised by this tour, it was the best day of our holiday in es canar. The train really picks up some speed, so on a hot day( around 40 degrees!), you get a lovely cool breeze. I think we had four stops. three of them being 30 minutes each and one stop just 10-15 minutes. The whole trip takes around 3 hours and covers around 12 miles. You get to look at some lovely places that you would need a car to check out normally. It is also very well thought out with a trip to a lovely village with church and some stunning beaches. lovely countryside as well.
Definitely take some towels and swim at the last stop Cala De Boix. A stunning small beach with lovely sand and crystal clear waters. You get 30 minutes here. Just time for a 15 minute swim in stunning surroundings and quick change , if you like, or just sit on towels on the train.

Really enjoyed travelling through the farmland surrounding Es Canar and learning more about the area. The beach stops were really nice however only criticism would be that longer stops would be better. As soon as you have got off the train and down to the beach, it's time to come back again. Some very nice views and photo opportunities along the way.

We thought this was just a local train first of all. After reading the information board, we realised it was much more than that.
About 3 hours of travelling around the local beaches and through interesting countryside
There was a commentary in English which was good. Listening to some history of Ibiza helped bring the island alive.
4 stops for a chance to take photos, swim or just have a sit.
It cost 18 euros for an adult and 12 for children

We took the land train on a Sunday afternoon. We'd timed it so we were going when the weather wasn't so good; cool, breezy and some drizzle. It turned out to be a good choice as our little one (almost 2) loved the train. First stop was an old farmhouse at Can Andreu, which is very pretty. A little discussion about the traditional olive oil making process and a little more about weaving shoes. There were loads of mosquitoes and my wife and I left with loads of bites. We had the chance to sample some of the local liquor and then were back on the train. Next stop was an old church at San Carlos, which frustratingly was closed so we couldn't go in. Had to settle for some of the pictures taken by other travellers on this site. We did have a chance to wander to pick up and ice cream and had 5 minutes for the little one to play at the playground before departing. The next stop at Santa Eulalia felt very rushed. We just about had time to walk 5 mins along the promenade and order a glass of sangria, however there was no time to drink it before getting back on the train. One final stop at the Niu Blau beach and a bit of discussion about the special nature of Posidonia plant and its importance to the sand dune ecosystem.
Overall this felt a little rushed and a little overpriced at €16 per adult. Make sure you take some mosquito repellant for the farm!

Hi, we are going to the Fergus Parsio hotel in es Cana adults inly hotel. Can anyone tell us about tbe hotels nightlife or, do you have any recommendations for us. We are in our early fifties but alternative and in to bikes but not the lbiza nightlife of San Antonio for example. Also quiet beaches that we don't have kids running around as ours are in their twenties now. Any advice would be gratefully appreciated. We go on the 9th of Oct.

Hi mostly family entertainment in Es Cana but we were there during school holiday. Definitely not a clobbers place. Think it will be quiet in October. Beaches were amazing and as not school holidays wouldn't think too many kids around
