Hi Dan, serangan-gili trawangan route is in advertisements and brochures, but it apprears not a common route. I booked once for Rp. 550,000 but on the day the company said the route is moved to Padang Bai-Gili T, which is the most common route. The reason was weather/high wave. They refund the cost though and charged me Padang Bai-Gili T price which is 20% cheaper. Having said that, Padang Bai-Gili T is more certain route and the price is roughly rp. 500.000.

I think gili Meno is great for swimming, but really all 3 islands are fantastic.

Depends on the time of arrival to Lombok you can take a taxi (Bluebird) from the airport to both Bangsal or Teluk Nare ports on the north west. Takes around 1.5 hour and 300 000+IDR. From those ports you can take any kind of transport to the Gili Islands on your choice. Public sea transport is the cheapest one and takes long to get full. Latest transport leaves around 4-5 pm. If you're arriving later than this then it is recommended to go to Senggigi for 200 000 by taxi and stay near the port (jetty on Senggigi beach) (Kila, Santosa hotels are good or other cheaper options to stay in this popular tourist area) and enjoy that area as well. You can arrange a transfer from this port (jetty) at any time both from directly their office near the jetty or from promotioners there. They offer only speedboats for persoanl use, a charter for any number of people. Start price is 1 mln for return. Ask for 650 000 return. The thing is the return should be on that day only. So you can arrange for one way only for a maximum 450 000. It is comfortable and fast rather than leaving form the ports on north west. Good luck!

Hi Sharon! In my opinion three nights are enough. I spent five days on Gili T and it was a bit too long. Others love it and could easily spent weeks on there...so it really depends on if you like the island or not. I suggest to visit Gili Air too, it's equally beautiful but more peaceful than Gili T. Hello, I went to Gili T about 6 months ago. There are some really beautiful, quiet parts of Gili T that would be good to stay with kids and grandparents. The main side of the island where the boat port is can be a bit rowdy at night but during the day isnt too bad at all. We stayed at the Aston Sunset which is on the quiet side of the island (opposite side than the boat port) and would be perfect if your wanting to stay on Gili. We found that there are a lot of really quiet beach spots and to be honest we didnt see parties on even at night but we did go in the off season. Havent heard much about Ombak but think its on the same quieter side of the island. I would be mindful that when you pull up at Gili from any of the fast boats you have to walk through water and we had to stand in the heat for ages when we were boarding again so maybe let the grandparents know about that if theyre coming as well. Gili air is definitely quieter but it really depends on what your preferences

Hi there :) Yes there are direct boats from serangan to gilli t. It will cost you around $100 return. Travelling time is about 2 hours. There are many places to stay on gilli t. We stayed not far from where the boats come in and opposite the beach. Accommodation will set you back around $50 a night. I would probably stay on the side of the island where the boats arrive. Otherwise it is a bit of a hike. There are horse and cart but we chose to cruise around the island on push bikes. We had such a fantastic time there. The food was good, the music was excellent, the people were cool and the snorkling was fantastic. Could not fault gilli t. ENJOY !!!!
