War ein netter Spaziergang aber leider ist immer noch ein sehr großer umgefallener Baum direkt auf dem Giants chair also konnten wir nichts sehen…

Unfortunately, trees had fallen over this sight so there was not a clear view. This will take a lot of work to clear out.

This is a circular walk but we only walked up as far as the Giant's Cradle and Dufftown Fairy Village. It is a very pleasant fairly easy going walk up to that point. The Giant's Cradle is in a gorge and was caused by the eroding water of the Dullan. Just up a little slope to the right is a small monument and nearby The Dufftown Fairy Village.
Location: Staring point from Dufftown Museum, drive down Church Street, past the Church and you will see it is signed for Giant's Cradle. To get to it there is a lovely grassy path, a bridge and after the Giant's Cradle, Chair, and to the right, a little path with steps which take you to a small Monument and to the right of it a hollow where there it is a wonderful creation of fairy houses which children and adults alike will enjoy.
Suggestion: Walking boots or sturdy footwear.
Note: This is also a circular walk and may require appropriate footwear/clothing depending on the season. Care should be taken due to the nature of the area.
Note: It is not suitable for wheelchair access due to the terrain.

The Giant's Chair itself is a fairly nondescript rock overhang over a small river in a forest. However, the Giant's Chair walk takes in other delights and is well worth the short walk and minimal effort it takes. We didn't walk the entire loop from Dufftown but this is definitely on the cards for the future. Instead we found a small layby along the road just past the path marker on the minor road south of Dufftown, and walked in as far as the GIant's Chair.
En route, we discovered the gorgeous spot along the river near the bridge where we waded in the water and enjoyed the shoreline, then continued on to find the Giant's Cradle, a rock formation to the left of the main path that is well worth seeing and is far more interesting than the GIant's Chair itself, I think. We continued on and came across an entire Fairy Village up there which was an outstanding delight. Even as adults we were utterly delighted by all of the carefully crafted little fairy buildings and took some time examining them all. What a fantastic place to bring children! The walk we took was very short and more than worth seeking this out.

Nice little Walk in the town of Dufftown, you can start from the clock-tower, pass Mortlach Kirk, and the Distillery.
The Giant's Chair is a rock feature carved out by the power of the River Dullan in spate.
Not far from the chair you will stumble across Dufftowns Fairly Village, which is a delight for children and adults alike, we spent some time looking at all the little houses, but the fairy's were not at home when we visited.
There are a few steep sections, and some flights of steps, a bike is not suitable, also not suitable for a buggy.
