Some spot for one spot. Quare aul place for a dander and safe enough if ye stay away from the dodgey looking boyos. Nice car park round the back, the aul bora sits nicely in it until the peelers landed up to speak to us. Nice enough chap he was had a good laugh

It’s big place and my kids spend 6-8 hours every week. It’s clean and quiet. It’s great place in spring and summer time.

More like a place for adventure for kids,walkers,hikers runners .An area of Natural beauty surrounded by the most amazing sunrises and sunsets overlooking the Scottish coastline.you walk along the shoreline to the Prom Cafe situated near the end of the Promenade.The adventure does not stop here.....Sandy Bay brimming with wildlife, historical towers and monuments...Sandy Bay Playing fields and not forgetting Swimming pool and Auditorium...It is also within walking distance to The Town.This is more of an information review on the area from a local person. Hoping it may be helpful to visiting tourists and their families.The Promenade is Wheelchair accessible.

Being quite local to the area I have regularly walked along this part of the coast and I can seriously say it never seems dull and is incredibly relaxing. Less than a mile away (5-10mins) walk away from the main town centre of Larne is the main town park situated along the coast at the true beginning of the famous East Antrim Coast Road. The park is quite like any other park with some sporting facilities, bandstands, many footpaths and picnic areas, but the views are what makes this park more than ordinary. From here you can just make out the Scottish Coastline on a clear day, there are views of Islandmagee, the Chaine Memorial Tower (Aka "The Pencil"), Boats leaving the port and sometimes whale sharks and dolphins. I always enjoy this coast line especially during summer and early autumn and I would even recommend visiting the Prom Cafe after completing your walk of the area at the far end of the promenade for some tea & scones & remember bring your camera.

I walk along the prom and around the town parks almost every day and I love the changing scenery. Very calm and serene on a sunny summers day or exhilarating and refreshing on a stormy winters day. There are beautiful views of Scotland, the Maidens lighthouse and Islandmagee from the promenade and you are bound to hear a cheery greeting from one of the many regular walkers. Venture up the 'snake' path if you're feeling energetic. Great playpark for kids and tennis courts which open in the summertime. End your walk with a visit to the Prom Cafe in the Leisure Centre for coffee and cakes or a delicious lunch.

Of the many attractions along the beautiful Antrim Coast this park is surely the most undiscovered little gem out of the them all. This is one of the only places in the world were you can witness a timeline of when the Triassic period moves into the Jurassic one as you walk along the rocks in front of the promenade. The promenade has some fantastic views out to Scotland and up the famous Antrim coast Road. On a bad day you’ll see the Mull of kintyre, the Maiden lighthouses and the Aisla Craig. On a good clear day, I’m my opinion, the views are unrivalled. You will see the Highlands and Islands all the way up the coast of Scotland. If you’re very lucky you can see the Paps of Jura in the distance. At the end of the promenade is the Chaine Tower, a replica Irish round tower built in the 1800s, floating into the Irish Sea. The lovely cafe -The Prom Cafe -close to the tower makes you feel like your on one of the ferries that drift in and out of the port. At the top of the ‘Snake’, a rabbit filled winding path, you’ll witness some amazing sunrises if you get there early. The main part of the park has a very good children’s playpark, as well as public tennis courts, and is a great place for a picnic. Beside the park is another two of Larne’s many attractions - the beautiful Chaine park to the north, and to the south - the fascinating Drumalis house and retreat.

Missing the collies, and wanting some exercise, so I wandered up to the park and had an enjoyable 1.2 hour around the circular path and then along the sea front. Quiet and peaceful
