Four of us, two senior citizens couples, decided to visit this place. The approach road from centre of Gwalior is in a bad shape. It seems that the construction work is going on since ages.
The Dam Site is beautiful from the lake side but from the outlet side, it presented a very sad look. Maybe we had gone late after the monsoon.

Well in a natural and wide jungle area far away to Gwalior .
The Dam area is open near Village .
Cool and Quite area with full of nature.
Must Have proper shoes , if you think go to water so keep rubber shoes or chapples
Keep Hat or cap and water bottles and some snacks .
If you want you can ride the speed boat or basic boats.
You will go in evening if you time then you will see proper sunset.

Tigra dam is located 30-35 kilometres outside Gwalior. Be warned: the road connecting the city to Tigra is extremely bad and pot-holed (our auto ride left our bones rattled). Travellers pressed for time can choose to skip Tigra as there's nothing much to do there, other than boat rides. The grounds around the Sank river and the dam are mostly closed off and dirty, and it doesn't make sense to spend 1-1.5 hours travelling to Tigra when the place doesn't really offer all that much. The water body looks beautiful at sunset -- that's the only positive I drew from this "tourist attraction".

A late afternoon visit to Tigra was an awesome experience.
Calm environment, nice landscape, water full of Crocs. Yes. Crocodiles.
This place has boating options. Shorter trips to long distance motor boat ride. We opted for the full tour in motor boat. We went to the far reaches and the experience was breathtaking. We could see plenty of crocodiles in their natural habitat. We easily saw 15-16 crocodiles.
The place also has a historical story behind it as well.
Overall, had an amazing time. Definitely recommended.

We planned to visit this dam with keeping in mind to spend 1-2 hours here. However when we reached here we got know the different options available here in boating. One can choose 10 mins speed boat round. And there is option to choose 45-1 hour speed boat ride where your Driver will take you to magarkund ( crocodile area). Though bit expensive we choose latter ride and we didnt regret at all. Our driver was quite experienced with kneen eyes for crocodile. The dam n lake itself is very beautiful and since people dont know about it much, we were the only one with whole dam and lake at our disposal. Our driver took us to remote area of dam wherw we saw around 20-30 crocs and alligator live at very near distance. We saw them basking sun and slithering inside water at hardly 3 meter from us.
It was very exciting to see them. Our driver told us if you have more time he can take us to trek near mountain where there is beautiful waterfall and sacred temple.
Do take time to visit this place.
Also do carry your food and water as there is no shop or restaurant.

Nice place for picnic and if you are visiting in rainy season than it is an treat. You can enjoy boating facility. But road isn't that much good.

It is the source of drinking water to the city of Gwalior and also popular picnic spot.
Nearby villagers depend on this dam for their irrigation, drinking and domestic purpose.The tourist department started a boating club here. One can enjoy speed boating, jalpari boat, paddle boating and water scooty rides here.

The place is just amazing and absolutely a thrill to watch when dam gates are opened and very amazing dam built in Gwalior

The place is neglected dirty ad stinks the lake is good boating but the round lasts only 12 minutes, it has no toilets, the MP tourism restaurant is closed so Pl carry ur own food ad water

This place is around 20 km from main city.
Poorly maintained. Approach road is OK.
Parking is available. 30/-.
Entry is 10 rs.
Dogs, cows roam around inside the complex. Motor boat is 300-400 rs. Per round. Lots of beautiful birds.
