‪We reached here just before sunset and witnessed the different hues of sky during sunset. I could also record a small time lapse clip of this natural phenomenon.

On our way back, we came across Mithun, State animal of Nagaland. This was the only wildlife we came across, hardly any birds in the jungle. ‬

‪To reach here you require proper trekking shoes(full tight from all sides and not breathable but a sort of lather to avoid leaches in the monsoon, also keep a insect rappelling spray like Odomos to keep them away from you)
One should enjoy the climate, clouded foggy weather and fresh air to purify lungs. Good place for photography spot and making video . I loved the place and will go again in Dec or March.‬

‪It is a bit of a climb, getting to the 'seat' at the top of the hill, but the scenery is beautiful all along.‬

‪Hike to Pulie Badze is interesting too. will take about 5 hours both ways .
From the Razhu Point take a Bus to BCO....from BCO shared sumo to JOTSOMA VILLAGE near the Khoima science college , takes about 20 minutes.
From here is the trail to Pulie Badze.its a motorable road upto the base ...but you need to hire a vehicle or have your own vehicle.
I walked all the way from the Khoima science college to the top of Pulie Badze.took me 5 hours in total both ways at leisure.
From the base to the top takes about 45 minutes .‬

‪Pulie Badze, which means 'Pulie, please sit. This place is approximately 10kms away from Kohima Science College, should take 30-45 minutes drive.

The legend says the place is haunted, there used to be a farmer named Pulie who was bitten by a poisonous snake but when the family returned home they could see Pulie (his ghost), and Pulie was running everywhere being restless crying for his crops which was destroyed by the poisonous snake, to calm him down Pulie's family kept a chair outside the house and said 'Pulie Badze, in Nagamese this means, Pulie please sit, Pulie sat on the chair and the family left the place and since then Pulie lives here and the place is named after him.

Interesting right.. Pulie Badze offers stunning views of the Japfu Peak. Enroute from Kohima, after the exit from Science College you get a beautiful view of the Kohima city.
Enroute Pulie-badze, just before you are about to reach, you enter a sanctuary which is enriched with flora and fauna, you will also get to spot Mithuns.
When you reach the Parking spot there is a small canteen, you will have to trek for approximately a kilometre to reach the view point.
Me and my friends (Lanu and Ricky), we sat at the parking lot admiring the Japfu Peak , it was a cold evening but we didn't mind sipping some beers.

Many few people (mostly non Nagas) don't know that the World War 2 was also fought in India, this place was one of the doorway for the Japanese to enter Kohima and acted as a strategic location for the Japanese during the World War 2 before they attacked at the Tennis Court.‬

‪I was having a choice of Pulie Badze and Khonowa Village and for practical reasons I selected Pulie Badze and I loved the choice.
This is one of the highest peaks in Kohima and you can use vehicle to cover major distance. But last two kilometres are a good climb but extremely lovely experience. You can see pristine, preserved forest while climbing and when you reach the Top it is an amazing experience. As you near the Top you see so many Rhododendron as I had never seen in my life. So bright and beautiful flowers. A beautiful view of Kohima and the surrounding area, a feeling of being at Top of the World. One can see surrounding Mountains, including Japfu Top. An extremely rewarding experience. If you love being in the midst of Nature, just go for it. From Kohima, the road journey, the climb, leisurely being at the top and return back will take you about three lovely hours.‬

‪Pulie Badze Sanctuary is a wildlife sanctuary of Nagaland. It is spread over an area of 9.23 sq. km. If one is planning for an unforgettable wild adventure, Nagaland is an ideal destination which is rich in wildlife. The sanctuary is located in a beautiful location surrounded by green hills and streams.
The Pulie Badze Sanctuary lies in close proximity to the capital city of Kohima, thus making it easier for travellers to reach there. The Forest Department preserves the sanctuary from any kind of encroachments. The sanctuary is famous for the wide variety of birds. Tragopan Blythii and White-naped Yuhina are among the rare species of birds which can be seen here. It is a pleasurable sight to see these beautiful birds in their natural habitat.‬
