Awesomme apart from a fabulous selection of books it is in an area of outstanding beauty. Also you have the pleasure of meeting "The Grumpy Old Man" He's really a loveley person.

Great place . Wonderful scones and shortbread and hot ginger drink. Lovely interesting staff. Wide selection of books,cosy hats etc.

This is an odd little place : bookshop with coffee and cakes. The manager / owner was a fount of knowledge about everyone in the community. A lovely chap to chat with. Great coffee and cakes.

I’m not sure if it’s because it’s now up for sale, but this little bookshop seemed in a sad and sorry state on our visit. It used to be one of the highlights of my visits to the Lochinver area, but when we arrived there was an overwhelming smell of damp, many of the books had covers that were curling because of the damp environment and whole atmosphere just felt a little downhearted!

Stumbled across this great café today - bookshop well stocked and really varied.
Straight up great tea and coffee - don't expect anything fancy, but do expect high quality and service - the freshly made scones were the best I've had in numerous attempts on a two week trip right across Scotland.
Keep an eye out for it - and if you're passing - stop and visit.

We stopped by for a drink after completing a walk. Unfortunately the have a no dogs policy so I had to leave my wife and son with our dogs at the bottom of the drive (before the cattle grid. As a result none of us went into the bookshop (which we would have done if we had been able to sit outside the shop... as a book-aholic a think it is a shame that dog owners cannot even sit outside - it must cost them significant trade). That said, I was served by an extremely helpful young man who, because I would have been unable to carry 3 coffees back down the drive to the rest of my party, kindly opened 3 bottles of sparkling water and added cordial to them to make some very refreshing drinks. He is definately an asset to the business.

Been for sale for a while, but is still open. Always like to go in a have a look, came away with 3 books, wife chose 2 cookery and mine in Rob Roy. Ideal to find a book with a limited run. Ive never used the cafe, so cant comment, but bookshop is great. There are also some clothing and other bits and bobs for sale.

We were in the middle of what felt like nowhere and we stumbled across Achins. The tea shop is good quality and inexpensive. The staff, particularly the owner had a quirky charm. The artwork, that is all for sale, is the owner’s wife’s photographic work and if we’d had the space we would certainly have bought a couple of prints.

Wirklich eine Empfehlung... Im Bookshop gibt es einiges zum stöbern und nebenan gibt es leckeren Tee, den wir genossen haben. Wir haben uns hier für unsere Wanderung gestärkt. Sehr nette Leute hier!

Well it was still operating when we were there at Easter.... books as well as other souvenirs... whether its for sale or not I don't know. You could try ringing first?

Is the shop still open? There are references to the business being up for sale.
