There is a peacefull place at this monastery. Kind monks. Beautiful view around. You shoul climb a a little to the cross near the monastery, to get an amazing view.

Great place to visit. Piecefull place and the view is unbeliveble. Its a nice place to visit with friends and family.

Its just a building on a hill ... nothing really special to see. I was staying at dracula's hotel next door and walked by.

We stopped at this monastery on our way to Dracula Hotel. There are works ongoing to build a bigger church and to expand the nuns living quarters.
On the top of the hill there is a big cross with a panoramic balcony that allows the visitor to admire the beautiful romanian landscape.
Little farms, cultivated land, forest, hills and mountains.
It is quite a drive from Bistrita, but if you are direcred to the nearby Deacula Hotel, it is worth paying a visit to it.

You must have a car to get here. The monastery is just a short drive from Dracula Hotel in Piatra Fantanele. The monastery lies uphill and quite off the main road. Is not a big monastery but if you are curious to see around, is well worth to stop by
Such as any monastery in Romania, nuns are living here, they have their own live inside the monastery. There is a cross at the backside of the monastery, you can climbed to the top of it and see the view from there

I visited the Piatra Fantanele Monastery in March 2015, and i was pleasantly surprise. The visit is a short one, less then an hour, but if you make it to this little nun monastery, a must is: the 30 meters high, orthodox cross. If you manage to get to the last level of the cross (the highest in Romania ), the view is breathtaking. The nuns also have a painting room so if you want to buy an authentic orthodox icon, this is the place to purchase it.
