Called here whilst visiting the park on Thursday 21st April 2022. Was ok but we were looking for a certain type of picture and they all seemed to be of animals.

Visited the cafe . Never again . Tables not cleared and piled high . Bins next to the tables . Ordered coffee tea and cakes . Drinks arrived but no cakes . They'll be here in a minute. Never arrived . I just paid for the drinks .
Noticed many people sending to food back . The next table looked in horror at the hot dog given to them . Dry bread no sauces , awful .

The galleries are excellent - in a County that principally only has high street galleries with stables of artists or mansion houses with historical collections, it’s wonderful to see a professional space that caters for more creative, thought-provoking and perceptive material.

After visiting the cafe for business reasons I soon felt very uncomfortable after questions were asked about my seemingly Liverpool accent ( even though I've always lived in Cheshire and my parents came originally from Liverpool). I was then told that their visitors " have a plum in their mouths ". I could not have been made to feel more uncomfortable and unwelcome by one of the board of trustees even though they are volunteers.
This organisation clearly has zero understanding of the equality act 2010.

If you are looking for a great place for a full day or even a short half hour, then this is the place. Parking can be a bit tricky at key times but overall OK. Lots of green space for little ones to run, explore nature and a great a kids play area. A small café close to the park is great for a quick outdoor coffee / ice cream.
As a dog owner there are tons of different routes through the park and distancing from other dogs (if necessary) is easy.
Lovely rose garden for a stroll which is my favourite. If time permits, take time to visit the small shops / gallery in the court yard

Great Park with swings for the kids , had a coffee in the courtyard staff fantastic and top quality drinks . Grand kids had hot chocolate they where asked if they wanted marshmallows which they had . Nothing to much trouble for the staff and great prices .Muisc as well five star

Nice art galleries but.... NOT SAFE for COVID. precautions. A very nice park with a small arts centre and cafe. Entered the cafe to go into the galleries (I would not bother with the cafe as it felt a little unwelcoming, seemed a local cafe for local people). Nice art selection on display, one way system, followed this until we came to the last gallery and the supposed exit. On trying the door to leave, the door was jammed, so had to back track through the narrow corridor and the cafe. When I got back to the cafe informed waiting staff, who just shrugged their shoulders. The manageress was sitting in the cafe and informed me it was shut because they had problems with flooding, she came across as "couldn't be bothered". As we subsequently found the exit door was blocked with sand bags. Glad ther wasn't a FIRE, only Covid at the moment. The gallery should have been closed.

Have been enjoying 11am coffee mornings complete with entertainment. Lovely and efficient staff . Nice menu with something for everyone. Nice place to rest , for a while after a stroll around delightful Castle Park . Both indoor and outdoor serving . Several small shops in the courtyard . Fine art gallery . Excellent toilets impeccably clean . Worth a visit .

Not to the arts centre, cafe or shops but there is a huge park to the rear of the centre.
