Just had a lovely 5 nights with Claudia and her team at Happy dive. Rooms are basic, but v clean, we had a/c and hot water. The resort is small with around 6 cottages right on the ocean.
Food is great, there is no where else around to eat as far as I know!
If you want a few days relaxation, with great diving (reef and muck!), then I would highly recommend Happy Dive!

Diving christening with Claudia for our 4 teenagers. Strong experience with clear explanations. Claudia is an Ace, she is attentive to the safety of everyone especially for beginners.

Me, my husband and son stayed for one night recently at Happy Dive (old Ankermi) earlier this month. I contacted the owner Claudia via Whatsapp the day before and she was very accommodating and flexible even though we were not sure to join the next day.
The resort is small, quiet and comfortable. The staff are polite and helpful. The food is good. Me and my husband did one dive from the shore, which has lots of small critters; many seahorses of different species, a mimic octopus, frog fish incl. a giant hairy frogfish, pipe fish, seahares and much more.
Claudia was our dive guide, she has worked there many years and is still very excited to look for small critters, she has a very keen eye too and showed us a lot of stuff.
Unfortunately we did not have time to join the next day for a 2-tank dive to Pulau Babi - we hope to be back for that another time.

Ein kleines, verstecktes Paradies!
Claudia hat uns verwöhnt… Unsere Hütte im bezaubern-balinesischen Stil wurde täglich geputzt und zusammengeräumt. Das Bad ist übrigens frisch renoviert. Die Anlage ist liebevoll bepflanzt und gepflegt. Das Seerosenbecken und die Aussicht sind einfach unschlagbar!
Das Tauchgebiet ist ein Traum - mein persönliches Highlight: the Crack!
Das Team in der Anlage charmant und entgegenkommen - die Jungs am Boot unaufdringlich und unterstützend.
Die selbst zubereiteten Fruchtsäfte … sehr empfehlenswert!
Wir waren 4 Wochen in Indonesien unterwegs - dieses Mini-Resort ist das absolute Highlight gewesen! War eine tolle Zeit!

The diving is amazing, feels really quite special because there are not many people there. Claudia was away most of the time while we were there and only met her briefly but seemed nice and friendly. Kermi gets very excited when there is something unusual to see, which is nice to know he still gets a buzz out of the dives too.

We didnt stay here, and im happy we didnt, but since its the only dive shop on the beach we went there to inquire about snorkelling trip to the islands.
The locals on the beach warned us beforehand, he already has an reputation around there of not beeing very friendly.
He is not a local from Flores, he is from Java.
I still tried.
He obviously is only interested in divers - easy money.
So when we approached him in a normal friendly way asking about snorkelling trip he very quickly dismissed us.
Well, its his business and i guess he can choose his customers but in my opinion even snorklers are paying customers, right ?

The airport pickup was very good. The food is good and reasonably priced. The staff is very good - friendly, efficient, diligent. The bungalows are clean. There is drinking water in the restaurant and the bar. There are mosquito nets around the bed. The diving was really good!!! One day we dove their wreck and house 'muck', the next day we went out to some islands and dove walls. All of it was great diving. There is a quiet sand beach a short walk away. We only stayed 3 days, but I could easily stay a whole week. We walked down the road to get a bemo (van) and an ojek (motorbike) to ride up to Egon volcano and hiked that. It was lovely, but hard. The trail is very easy to follow, just steep and rocky!! The ojek driver was great to send some friends up the road several hours later to meet us at the end of the hike. The people in Indonesia are wonderful!!!

This was quite unexpected. When we arrived from a different hotel to ask about scuba-diving we met the owner (Indonesian male) with whom we talked for 10 minutes. He was completely unwelcoming, uninterested and simply rude. „I can dive with you even if you never dived before”, „show me your logbooks first”, „who was your instructor - give me the name of the person” were only a couple of completely crazy comments he made during the talk. We are beginners PADI OW, but we have around 30 logged dives in different locations around the world and we have never experienced such an approach. We were really amazed. The owner was unable to say what were his diving plans for the next day and if he can accomodate us with this plans. We went to do some snorkelling and he promised to come back with more information later but never showed up. We decided not to chase him, but skip the diving in this place instead. We went to Sea World Club closer to Maumere and dived with them the next day and it was a fantastic experience with nice people and friendly atmosphere. I have no idea what is this guy’s problem but it seems we were not an exeption. When we shared our experience with neighbors in our hotel it turned out that one of the guests had similar concerns about the owner’s attitude after his visit there a couple of days before. Unheard of.

Très bel endroit. Beaucoup de goût dans la déco.
On s'y sent très bien grâce au charmant personnel.
Nous n'avons pas fait de plongée mais le centre a l'air très sérieux et claudia de connaître son affaire.
Si bous devez faire une premier nuit 1przs votre arrivée, le rapport qualité prix est bien plus intéressant qu'à maumere même où le passage de la transflores G à Che un peu le plaisir

Ich habe eine wundervolle Woche im Ankermi verbracht.
Die Besitzer Kermi und Claudia waren sehr zuvorkommend und ich hatte quasi einen Urlaub mit 'Familienanschluss'.
Der Besuch der indonesischen Wahlen, der Besuch der Arak-Herstellung und das anschliessende Fest im Dorf waren unvergessliche Momente.
Das Essen war exzellent und die Bungalows klein aber gemütlich.
Jederzeit und immer gerne wieder!!
