A long strenuous climb, especially if hot, over 3000 steps which can up to around 2 hours.
Once at the top there is a huge complex of over 900 Jain temples.
Very friendly pilgrims and a fascinating place.

A visit to the Shri Adishwar temple is a must, when you stay in Bhavnagar. To reach it you must realize that you're going to climb a stair of three thousand and some more steps. Also you must have more than enough water with you (we used 1.5 ltr each). It is highly appreciated if you climb the stair bare feet. You pay respect to even the smallest bugs by doing so. Might you step on one, than it makes a chance to survive in the holow under your instep.
During the climb you get a beautiful view of the landscape. A few times you think you're nearly there and then, around the corner..... the stair continues. But when you reach the temples, it makes the climbing more than worth. Photographing is not allowed, so you'll have no contribution on that point from me. But believe me, the temples are breathtaking.
Might physics withhold you, it is possible to rent carriers to bring you up. If you feel some aversion against letting these poor people carrie you, remember that your money gives them a chance to feed there children (and give them a tip)

At the foot of the mountain, there are shops, pilgrims, porters, etc. and some small temples but it is impossible to see the complex. To reach the complex you much climb the 3600 steps up to the top! Fortunately, if you are older or not particularly fit you can engage a palanquin with 4 carriers. We walked part way, when tired they carried us and then we walked some more. The steps are crowded and people are friendly.
The temple complex is fantastically scenic! There are high areas from which you can see roof after gold covered roof of the myriad temples that are on the top of the mountain. Visitors (modestly dressed) are allowed to walk through the temples and see the pilgrims making offerings.

It was one of the best trips to such a lovely temple in India. The walk is steep but it's worth going up for the prayer! For elderly folks they have the rides that is apt as well.
