Visited a couple of times while we were staying in the area. We used to love visiting but after this week it seems to have gone down hill, now the place is a lot bigger the downstairs seems empty and a waste of space. The fridges were mostly empty but the meat counter is still brilliant with delicious pies. They have some lovely items upstairs but not well merchandised leaving it to look messy.
The staff on the checkout seemed like they didn’t want to serve you and could not break a smile, in the past few years it was such a friendly place apart from the pies would not return.

We go here quite regularly to the shop and the selection and quality of the food is very good. The only disappointing item we bought was the fruit scones they were not very good. The pies, cheeses and items we got from the butchers were very good.

Decent farm shop with good quality food meat etc. A large car park. Farm animals so, children's play area very muddy. Worth a visit if in the area if dry.

Visited mainsgill to see the lambing shed. Had lunch in the restaurant. Food was delicious and well presented. Had a saunter around the store. Checking out their fresh food, clothing and homeware. Great way to spend a few hours out in the North Yorkshire countryside

Oh dear Mainsgill, who decided it was a good idea to sell hot drinks at the tills ? The last place I want to be is in a queue of customers waiting at the tills while so much time is spent dispensing hot drinks and it wasn't even busy today !

Very poor food these days, luke warm soup and a rubbish all day breakfast. Wont be going again any time soon. Very poor, not even particually busy so no excuse there

Lovely shop with great local food and drink section and friendly staff. A great place to break your journey - with only one thing that would improve it. THEY DONT SELL DECAF COFFEE!!!!! Seriously, in this day and age???!!! We've started doing our coffee break elsewhere only because of this. As soon as they introduce decaf, we'll be back.

Great place to visit anytime, but its magical at Christmas. Lovely Christmas display with great gifts and decorations. Cakes in the cafe look enticing, but sadly a long queue, midweek probably best. And don't forget to visit the animals outside.

Nice place to visit, cafe really nice. Shop has a lot of lovely products. However it is let down by the car park it’s atrocious!! It’s a free for all!! They need to tarmac it properly with bays clearly marked. People are just dumping their cars in stupid places. They haven’t got any disabled parking if you need that. You have to go into the mens toilet entrance to find the disabled toilet. Toilet roll in the disabled toilet is barely accessible. Gravel paths or grass to see the animals to the rear of the building wheelchairs will struggle. Only option for Sunday dinner was beef or pork no good if you don’t eat meat the only other meal option was beef burger. It gets really busy though as it’s a popular stop for bus trips and people travelling if they are having a staycation.

Recommended by our hotel receptionist as it was nearby and would let us have our dog with us, we came for a Sunday morning breakfast with family. We had not looked details up before so the animals were a very pleasant surprise. We met family visiting from Africa who had travelled through Cairo to come to the UK but the first camels they had ever seen were here!
Our English Breakfasts were well presented and reasonably priced and gave us a good start to our long day. The farm shop looked excellent but we could not browse with the dog.

It's a working farm with an array of animals that you can see. There is no cost involved. It has a very large farm shop, shopping area, restaurant and a children' s play area. Well worth a visit and very popular.
