We stumbled on this gem of a place while looking for somewhere to have lunch while travelling through. Clever us. Souvenirs and gifts to buy, sapphires to fossick out the back and great food. We both had a lovely milkshake and a decent portioned BLT. Plenty of tables undercover and good toilets. Excellent place to stop for lunch.

Great place to stop in and do some fossicking, friendly staff and a great cafe to sit and have a meal after finding your gems, we found some nice gems, Well worth a visit, you never know what you'll find.

Great fun, staff are helpful and informative. We spent the afternoon here, nobody rushed us and it was great fun seiving for sapphires. If you don't find the stone of your dreams in your "bucket of wash" they have some amazing stones set in jewellery that is not overpriced. They have a beautiful cafe here and the cheesecake is absolutely amazing! Take you afternoon tea to your sorting table and while away the afternoon dreaming of finding the big one!
They even let us take our dogs out to the sorting and washing area, so we didn't have to worry about them being in a hot car.

This was one of sons favourite things on our whole central QLD trip.
Pat was great, her staff were helpful and enthusiastic.
We found multiple sapphires which was fun. The buckets are "salted" which means that they have some low quality sapphires planted amongst all the dirt so that you are guaranteed to find some. Great for little kids and for the experience.
Would come again.
We had a nice lunch from the cafe too.

The staff are really friendly and helpful as there were lots of Sapphires to be found with some staff assistance. The kids loved it and was well worth the stopover to get here.

Very well run and busy little place .
As we walked in we were not shore what or how to do but a lovely lady behind the counter was quick to show us what to do and with a friendly smile 😃
We shifted through our bucket of dirt and found a few gemstones. It was relaxed , great fun even for us adults.
We had x2 coffees with scones at the cafe after.
It was a lovely experience ..

Very laid back Gemfields attraction. Easy family visit for fossicking with a good facility for it. It’s good old fashioned dusty fun.

we stopped here on our way back from fossicking in Rubyvale for lunch.
Though you can fossick here we chose to do it somewhere else but supported the business by staying for lunch
The meals are very well priced, a decent size and licensed to enjoy a coldie on a scorching day

After reading some great reviews we thought to try some fossicking here so we paid for a bucket of wash (mostly dirt) and the 2 coffees and scone deal for $25. Disappointed in the experience as we had been to another mine and had a much better experience. Best coffee and scones debatable have had much better elsewhere.

Great place to spend a few hours. With a small fee you can fossick for your own gems. And you will always find one, if luck is on your side you may get a nice big one.

You don’t pay per person but you pay per bucket. We got a bucket with 2 coffees and scones for $19. I think a bucket is $12. Very reasonable. If you get there early the hostess will show you how to do the panning.
