We have visited the museum several days ago (Dec 2019). Very nice and interesting private museum. Many exhibits, real exhibitis of the several generations of the family. Our guide was very nice man, told us a lot about the history of the castle and answered our questions. Finally, a very tasty traditional coffee with dates. Beatiful exhibition.
I really recommend to make a stop there when travelling to or from the desert.
You could park your car very near the museum, don´t worry to enter the gate to the square area.

Stopped by on way from Desert Night Camp to Ras al Jinz turtle reserve. Very interesting collection of Omani cultural objects in a beautifully renovated fort. Coffee and dates with the very friendly owner after a guided tour was a bonus.

館藏不少老闆收集的早期民生用品,門票不貴,免費的導覽人員講解得非常用心,導覽結束後,還提供免費的椰棗和阿曼咖啡供遊客品嚐.

Musée retraçant bien le mode de vie de ce beau pays. objets parfois désuets mais on sent la passion du propriétaire. Accueil très agréable et compétence de la guide. Nous avons aussi eu droit au Kawa avec des dates en compagnie de Khalfan Al Hashmi.

Sur la route entre le désert et Sur, une halte très sympathique dans ce musée où les collections ont été constituées par le propriétaire de lieux. Tout n'est pas extraordinaire mais on sent que cela a été fait avec passion. Avec un peu de chance, le chef des lieux vous rejoindra à la fin de la visite pour une discussion autour d'un café local et de dattes.

Nel nostro tour era prevista una sosta presso questo castello; struttura molto ben restaurata e adibita a museo; sia nell'ampio cortile, sia nella varie sale si incontrano moltissimi oggetti utilizzati o raccolti dalla famiglia del proprietario Al Hashmi; dalle anfore alle monete, dalle selle dei dromedari alle foto della sua famiglia e degli avi, dalle stoviglie agli strumenti di lavoro; merita una visita per avere qualche elemento in più sulla conoscenza delle tradizioni omanite; alla fine della visita il proprietario offre caffè e datteri con la possibilità di fare le foto di rito.

We stopped here en route between Ras al Jinz ( turtle beach) to Desert Nights camp.
Not easy to find but worth it. Tucked away in a back street behind the livestock feed market. It appeared closed, but the door was opened to us by a lovely guide who had spotted us on the CCTV !
We were then given a personal tour by her . Lots to see, ranging from 2000 year old pottery to Betamax video players! Massive collection of porcelain, cooking equipment, copper utensils, jewellery, baskets, guns, even turtle and camel skeletons! We then met the charming owner who gave us coffee and dates and was keen to chat.
Highly recommended if in the area !

Had an excellent visit to this privately owner collection of antiques and artefacts, the guide was well informed and pointed out some fascinating parts of this very large collection. Enjoyed coffee and dates with the owner after the tour and talked about his passion for collecting and for his country. Will definitely visit again to see how his collection continues to expand.

Al Kamil è una piccola località nota soprattutto perché qui si congiungono le strade da Muscat a Sur con quella verso al Ashkhara e il mare ed è un punto di sosta ma c’è anche un castello restaurato da poco che contiene la collezione privata dello sceicco Al Hashmi. Oggetti di rame, ceramiche e quant’altro. Merita la visita se ci si ferma a questo crocevia. A fine visita caffè e datteri offerti dal proprietario.
