Museo Imhotep
Recibe el nombre en honor al arquitecto egipcio Imhotep, al que se le atribuye el diseño de la famosa pirámide escalonada de Djoser, así como todo el complejo en torno a la pirámide.
Opinión escrita en castellano por imperativo de las normas de Tripadvisor (NO Admitido EL CATALÁN) .Desde aquí reivindico que sea el Catalán, una lengua reconocida por Tripadvisor.

Ce musée créé à l'initiative de Jean-Philippe Lauer, un archéologue français qui a passé 60 ans sur le site de Saqqarah, lui dédie une pièce (son bureau reconstitué). On y trouve également une momie avec cartonnage, un sphynx très ancien, des décors de faïences bleues, des vases uniques en albâtre, un fragment remarquable de bas-reliefs représentant des bédouins affamés, entre autres.

Not to be missed if you’re visiting Saqqara and Memphis, this small but well laid out museum is dedicated to the architect/scribe Imhotep. It doesn’t take more than 20-30 mins to look around all the exhibits but is worth the time.

I’ve visited the museum by car, ticket fee was 5 le for the car and 5 le for the museum for Egyptians. The museum is well kept. There are around 280 pieces of ancient statues. Of course there is a statue of Imhotep. No videos were allowed inside the museum, just photos. Great to pass by the museum if you are visiting Saqqara.

It a very neat and well organised museum. There is almost no crowd so everything can be seen in peace. They kept a mummy too and the sight of it gave us goosebumps. The outer area and washrooms are neat and clean.

Not usually a museum kind of guy, but the museums in Egypt are amazing.I went to every museum that I could. They all have different items to look at and they are uncovering new items all of the time at different dig sites. So yes, go to the museums!

This is a great place to start your tour of the Sakkara area. The museum houses the oldest complete Royal Mummy from 2292 BCE. Displayed are many tools, vases and figurines. Some are unique and not in the Egyptian Museum.

Very well-done regional museum, with a focus on area finds as well as everyone's favorite architect, Imhotep. Good introduction to the area before you begin your explorations for the day.

This museum is at the Saqqara site and is only about 5 rooms but has some exquisite exhibits. The tiled facade from Djoser's pyramid, several scribe statues of Imhotep and his medical instruments. Tools used in building the pyramids and sarcophagi. There is also a short video narrated by Omar Shariff that goes into Saqqara that is worth watching as well. Finally, it has the cleanest bathrooms in the site.

Although a small museum, it however does provide a small diversion from the large intimidating necropolis of Saqqara. Dedicated to the scribe Inhotep who was later deified by later ancient Egyptians. It is believed that Inhotep mastered the use of stone as a building medium. All the artifacts are well labeled and provide a glimpse into the funerary rituals of the ancients. No photography by camera is allowed however, you can use a mobile phone without a flash.
