Dit museum geeft een zeer duidelijke kijk op de omstandigheden voor en tijdens de Eerste Wereldoorlog. Heel verzorgd en mooie locatie.

Really disappointed with this exhibition. It hasn’t really changed or been updated since it opened. I don’t believe it’s ever been 100% open. I have visited on numerous occasions and there is always some part of it either not open or not working. Such a shame. Not worth going out of your way for. Has the potential to be something special, but clearly needs more funding.

Very interesting and Informative. Good place to start any tour of the western front. The introductory film was a good insight as to the WW1 started followed by the time line “model “ which gave me a very good understanding of the movements during the 4 years of the war. Well worth a visit. I particularly liked the quiet of the woods around

We would definitely recommend this place to be the first stop on your tour. The exhibits give an excellent insight into the build-up the WWI and the graphic display showing the positions of the front lines as time passed is particularly effective and can be rerun to really see what happened as the war progressed.
Many of the photographs on display are excellent.
There is also lots of information on the civilians who were there at the time.
A very good addition to the historic sites of the area.

Would recommend visiting this museum before starting a visit to the whole area. A film gives detail of the history behind the start of WW1 before going on to the war itself. The topographical map of the western front with interactive film with date line showing movement of the front line during the four years of the war was excellent. In addition there are interactive screens with archive photos of the war. Gave me a real insight into what went on during this time The staff were excellent and very knowledgeable

Originaires de la région nous avons pu apprendre l'impact que les affrontements qui y ont eu lieu sur cette guerre.
Le film au début explique clairement le pourquoi du conflit. La carte interactive montre en détail les différentes phases des combats.
Ensuite les différents écrans tactiles nous font découvrir non seulement la triste vie des soldats dans les tranchées et les différents combats, mais également la vie de la population sous l'occupation.
C'est une tranche de l'histoire que l'on ne peut oublier et je conseille à chacun de venir dans ce lieu de mémoire en famille.

Heel aangenaam verrast door het opzet van dit museum.
De educatieve zoektocht voor kinderen onder de 12 is een echte aanrader! Ons bezoek duurde hierdoor zelfs een ruime 2 uur van geïnteresseerd en aandachtig speurwerk. Top (en de beloning was ook nog eens een schot in de roos)!
Dikke pluim voor de organisatie!

Je suis tombée, complètement par hasard, sur ce petit musée de Plogsteert. Quel heureux hasard!
J'ai été accueillie par Amélie, qui a été vraiment formidable, qui a pris le temps de m'expliquer beaucoup de choses et m'a donnée beaucoup de conseils (notamment pour des visites scolaires - je suis enseignante).
Le musée me semblait tout petit, et s'il l'est par la taille, il ne l'est surement pas par le contenu ! Il y a beaucoup de choses à voir et à apprendre dans ce musée. Nous commençons par un film très instructif et très clair; puis il y a différentes parties, interactives.
Je n'avais qu'une petite heure pour visiter (je pensais que ça serait suffisant), mais il me reste encore beaucoup à parcourir. Je reviendrai avec plaisir, sans doute en famille cette fois : un parcours spécial est prévu pour les enfants; je suis sûre qu'ils vont adorer!
Le musée se trouve dans un grand parc, que je n'ai pas eu le temps de parcourir, et proche du Berks Cemetery et du Hyde Park Corner Cemetery.
Un lieu de mémoire important, instructif, que je recommande vivement!

Kan het interactief museum vrij bezocht worden of dien je vooraf te reserveren?
Indien mogelijkheid tot bezoeken zonder vooraf te boeken, welke openingsuren gelden er op zaterdag 30 juni?

Geachte,
Indien u met een groep (vanaf 10 personen) komt, moet u op voorhand reserveren. Indien het een groep is met minder dan 10 personen, hoeft u niet op voorhand te reserveren. Op zaterdag 30 juni, is het museum open van 10u00 tot 18u00.
