What a phenomenal location to dive. I ended up with Island Scuba on my birthday and I couldn't have asked for more! First off La Pared (The Wall) is a beautiful, healthy and colorful reef full of marine life. Reef Sharks, Morays, Puffers, Sandal Lobsters and much much more!!!! If you are into photography, definitely check them out.
We did a two tank dive in the morning and after our first dive, during our surface interval on the boat( my personal highlight of the trip) we were fortunate enough to see a Humpback Whale, this was the first time I have ever seen one in person, right next to the boat and we got in the water with her for a bit as well!!!!
If you are looking for a new location to dive in the Caribbean , check out Island Scuba in Guanica and go to La Pared. Trust me you will not regret it!

I basically had a private scuba diving tour as my group consisted of me, two other divers and the guide! I LOVED swimming with the Caribbean reef sharks and exploring the Black Wall. I was a bit nervous as it was my first dive in the ocean but the staff at Island Scuba were reassuring and made me feel comfortable before my dives. Diving in Puerto Rico is expensive but this shop was more affordable than some others on the island which was a plus. When I come back to Puerto Rico someday I'll definitely book with Island Scuba again!

I had an amazing experience. We saw many sharks and other animals. The crew was friendly and attentive. 10/10 would recommend.

mostly I liked having first dive in Puert Rico. the Southside has calmer and clear waters. the dive was amazing with so many fish, eels, lobster, sting rays, and sharks. the corals were super to observe and not to touch. The morning dive package works well. I liked having a 5mm wetsuit in February. what really helps is to know your open water certification training. the dive shop guide also took professional photography.

Es una experiencia muy buena mucha vida marina los tiburones inprecionante los recomiendo no todos los dias uno puede bucear con tiburones ver rayas congres

Pedro is very laid back and friendly. His family and home are beautiful (I highly recommend staying in one of his cabins. The dives are superb. We went down just days after a hurricane came through that impacted visibility, however it was still good.
Pedro's expert guidance in swimming with Caribbean Reef Sharks cannot be understated. It is an experience I will never forget. Go do it.
The wall is amazing. I recommend taking a light for peeking in crevices and obviously watch your depth. It is so easy to get distracted when swimming with several sharks around you.
After your dives, lounging at the mangrove covered beaches below Pedro's cabins is nice. The locals are friendly and there are nice beaches, food, and drinks readily available and almost everything in walking distance.

Very chill dive experience. The wall was beautiful, covered in coral and fish. We got to see sharks and eels and oodles of, my favorite, flamingo tongue snails. Divemaster and skipper were friendly and helpful. Would recommend!

I completed my first 2 ocean dives through this outfitter. Really nice folks and overall enjoyed my diving experience. I did the 2-tank morning dive, one of which was a spectacular wall dive, the other a shallower reef dive. Saw dozens of reef sharks and spiny lobster that were so big they looked like they were out of a sci-fi movie. The boat we took out was very small, so if you’re prone to sea sickness, perhaps find an outfitter with a bigger boat. I only mention this because I did have to cut short my second dive due to feeling like I was going to toss cookies into my regulator :) I do wish the dive shop had a better selection of apparel, seemed really limited so I only took a sticker home as memorabilia of my first dive. Lastly, the whole boat experience felt a little rushed, including the dive debriefing, and I didn’t get a beat to inspect the gear to really comment on its quality. Though I didn’t have any issues while diving so couldn’t have been too bad!
Overall, I would totally recommend this dive shop to anyone traveling to Puerto Rico as every place surely has their pros and cons!

In a word: WOW WOW WOW! OK, three words. But one word isn't enough to express how incredible this company is. From communicating by phone and answering all my questions, to assisting with gear and showing me some fantastic creatures under the sapphire blue waves of southeastern Puerto Rico. Many thanks to Mr. Pedro "Sin Miedo" and Mr. Papo. Thanks for an unforgettable dive!!!

Excellent diving, and excellent guiding! Pedro took us down to the coral trench wall and the "aquarium." Both were teeming with life, so much vibrant coral, lots of fish, lobsters, crabs, conch, and sharks!

I am a diver that has been diving with Island Scuba over many years now. Usually, the second dive of the two-tank dive trip with them is usually a dive from 25 to 50 feet along the many beautiful dive spots along the Guanica coast, where Island Scuba's shop is located. So as far as availability of those types of dives for a younger diver, there's absolutely no concerns. You'd have to ask them for more specific information. I think if you're both in for a great treat if you decide to go!

I was there recently, but I brought all my own equipment. I did observe however, that they have a very large line of rental equipment, including Nitrox. In the Caribbean you find mostly aluminum tanks and mostly 80CF. There are a few metal tanks and a few 100CF. Hope you have a great time like I did.
