Just an island. Looks pretty from the boat. The strong wind and high waves prevent your boat from getting close. No one lives on the island. Just trees and birds. Opposite the island are lots 9f fishing boats that line the shore.

We visited the Gopala Krishna temple in Uppinakuduru and were intrigued with this tiny but interesting place. Recommend taking a detour down to this area if you are in the vicinity and simply want to enjoy a bit of the countryside.

Very nice place about 20 mins drive from Kundapur. The beach is sparsely populated and hence need not worry about crowd and also if possible stick around for some puppet showws which are quite popular there.

Uppinakudru is a small island village about 6 - 7 kms north of Kundapura. The art of puppetry has had a strong foundation in this village. Uppinakudru is a must visit for people who are interested in art and culture. The main attraction of this village is the Yakshagana string puppetry theater run by Bhaskar Kamat of Kogga family. The puppet dance drama is a treat to watch.

Its in the outskirts of Udupi, way around 25-35kms but worth place to visit to spend some quality time.
Just go for boating managed by the local fisherman. Best time to visit in the early morning or after 4.30pm to avoid sunstroke.
Do visit during your Udupi trip. They will charge you for boating.

This village island is located 40 kms from Udupi and about 6 kms from Kundapura. For such a small place, it houses many temples - Gopalakrishna temple, Vasudeva temple, Siddhi Vinayak temple and Lakshmi narayan Mutt. This place is known for its ancient Puppetry form of art, few families still strive hard to keep the art alive. The place is nice, but the Karnataka tourism department seem to have done little to improve any facilities here. One advantage is it is close to the highway and so reaching here by road is not a problem.

Is the place accessible by people who cannot walk much? Is there a viewpoint to see the coast or should one walk too much?

I believe most people go to marvante beach nearby. Not sure if there is a view point right on the island.
In general would be a little difficult if you are not getting by in a car. Can try autos maybe.
